Amazon! In London You Never Run Alone!!!
Excellent! Amazing! I am so proud and happy that I participated! All Excellent! Thanks to All Volunteers and Crowd for their Unbelievable SUPPORT! In London You Never Run Alone!
A remark if I can possibly help for more wc’s available as the waiting time I believe was too much for a runner to stop and losing the rhythm.
Overall 110 % Satisfied!
Many Thanks for the Opportunity Given to Participate in this Amazing Event!!!
Don’t work at all
The app failed to load at any point during the marathon so we had no idea where the person we were supporting was which made being there impossible and frustrating
Easy to use but too slow
Useful interface but on London marathon 26 the app failed to show the person I was supporting progress. The mobile network being slow is also a problem during
busy events.
Shame it didn’t work
Spent most of the race trying to get this to work but no signal wherever we were standing
Useless - not accurate
This app is as much use as a chocolate teapot! Runners are not tracked accurately, so as a charity, we missed many of the runners that were running to support us. Could do better!!
Stopped tracking at 18m, hopeless
Disappointing
Temperamental
Worked for about five minutes and then you couldn’t use it.
Appalling
This is one of the worst apps I have ever seen. It simply doesn’t work. Over the 2.5 hours so far it has only “relocated” my tracked participant twice - just abysmal.
I have to wonder if they are using the British Airways software team!
It’s good
It’s good because I can see where people are
App not working
How can I track my son running if the app has stopped working? Unacceptable when you want to track the London marathon live!!
Simply doesn’t work
See title, don’t waste your time
Not an improvement
Old version showed a little runner not just a blob with initials. Can’t get full screen. Not remotely engaging.
Tested it?
Search function is terrible. Club name with “&” breaks it, and only 20 name returned (from the four or five clubs with the same start to their name). I get to “D” alphabetically.
Cannot track from Apple
Simply cannot find runners and track them on my iPhone... seems to work on Android
Update: doesn't work with VPN on.
Terrible, Nothing Works
Can never connect to the server to refresh info. When trying to log in it regularly fails with an error message. Totally useless app.
Cannot connect with server
Tried to find participant by bib number or name but keep indicating cannot with server. It is impossible to be a supporter by using this app.
Doesn’t work unless on WiFi
Despite triple checking my settings- this app doesn’t work off WiFi so can’t use it to track athletes whilst I’m out or away from WiFi.
Lack of functionality
As someone who works for a National Charity tracking our runners is an invaluable tool. Why does the app not associate ballot runners with their chosen charity and why has the limit of participants to follow been set at 30!
Perhaps an app for charities should be considered.
Can’t log in
The app won’t let me log in even though I have the correct details
Mileage tracking is so far out
I’ve tried 2 practice 5k runs with my watch and phone both measuring 3.2 miles the app only shows 1.7 it’s so far out I’m going to have to run a lot of extra miles to get it to 26.2. Only 1 day to get this app fixed. I’ve raised a case on the website but no response yet
Not an “inclusive” App
I wanted to use this App on my iPhone SE [gen 1] which is light enough and small enough to carry round 26.2 miles. The App wouldn’t download unless I’ updated’ to an iOS version my iPhone doesn’t support. So much for the London Marathon being ‘inclusive’ when some participants such as myself are unreasonably excluded
Poor app from TCS
App is riddled with bugs. Not enough characters in the box to let you log in with your booking ref, continual ‘can’t connect to server’ errors. Poor given it was built by a big IT company / TCS themselves
5km = 7km
The app didn’t work on the first 5K practice run, the audio part worked when I set off, but when I was at 5K, the app said I saw just about over halfway. Will try again tomorrow. Very worried for a Sunday that it’s going to work accurately. After the initial audio she only spoke again or ended it, when I played about with the app.
Login errors
Constantly get “Invalid login” despite verifying details on let’s do this. Not a very helpful error message and no signposting for support
Connectivity Issues
Continued “connectivity errors” although internet connection is stable and strong. Needs fixing before the weekend.
Unable to login
Nowhere do the instructions say you need to turn off any VPNs and ad blockers before it allows you to login.
Once you turn off your security you can login in. It’s taken me more time to work this out than it will to complete the 26.2miles on Sunday and I’m not a quick runner!
There is no help contact provided so like myway you really are on your own!
Can’t log in!
Get Invalid log in every time.
It’s not wrong.
Despite putting in my correct booking number, email and date of birth I get the message invalid login. I am running on Sunday and cannot access the app. I have emailed and sent messages but nobody responds. Really sad that it is making what should be a lovely experience quite stressful
Rubbish
Keeps saying I’m already logged in but I am not. Help please!
GPS Permission issue?
Great app, but I can’t turn on the GPS Permission?
App reads under (distance is less than you actually run)
5k test run with new 2026 app read 7.30/km. garmin read 6.30/km but for 5.68km. I cld end up running 5 or 6 Km more than the 42km!!!
Absolute rubbish
Can’t login to app with all correct details. Asked for help but just have a bot. Not happy at all. Complete rubbish
Logs out after closing app
Makes the app pretty much useless as has to put in all booking ref and details and readd people to track each time
Can’t login
Enter all info as shown in confirmation but get invalid login error
Can’t log back in
Logged in originally then went off the app go email for a new start and wave time went to tcs app open it up and it needs me to log in again I do that and it says
error
Device is already registered to another account? All my details are exactly the same
Needs to show own position
Decent App but would better as a spectator if it showed your position on the map as well as runners you are tracking. This would save having to keep swapping between Google maps and the app.
Tracking and maps
As soon as I got near the route the tracking became slow or non existent. The maps wouldn’t load and it made it impossible to judge where the competitors were. Very disappointing. And I can’t submit a review without adding a stupid nickname
No connectivity
App didn’t work at all during the marathon in London which is really when you need the tracking to work. Never managed to get it to connect so it was a waste of time.
Tracking needs to be available earlier
Half an hour before is too restrictive. I forgot because I was busy getting to the event then waiting in a field for no reason. Friends couldn’t find me because bib tracking is too slow to update to be useful for this.
Open the tracking permissions option earlier. Let us decide if there is a privacy concern.
Still a poor app. No improvements over prior effort
According to the app my participant is still on the course not having passed the last two landmarks. In fact they finished 40 minutes ago.
All the data was rubbish.
Sorry , it needs a compete rewrite.
I’m just sorry for spectators who may have used the data to follow their participants only to flind that they had left ages ago.
Please improve for 2026
The participants did not appear on the map, which made it much harder to provide support. Additionally, the participant percentages on the main dashboard weren’t updating unless we clicked into each athlete individually, meaning we were often working with outdated information. This made it really difficult to follow and support multiple people—especially without being able to track them on the map. We ended up missing our team because of this. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially after traveling all this way. Please improve for 2026
Awful on Marathon Day
Couldn’t track our runners. Awful app.
Cant connect to the server error messages during the race. Whats the point in trying to track! Junk!
Total rubbish.
Why have a tracking app when it cannot connect to a server. What’s the point. Useless and poor performance.
Unreliable unless on the day
App works for a supporter but wanting to use to record my marathon my way didn’t allow me to start tracking!!!
Very disappointing as previous years been great motivation to listening to the commentators and history of the London marathon
Made me log in
I was taking my mum and then it made me log in again and I lost all the tracking data and information
Awful app
This app is so buggy it’s unbelievable.
How to see more participants
May just be me - but I see no option to scroll to a second page or participants ? Pls advise
Can’t connect to server
All day I’m unable to add people to the tracker
Poor tracking
The app is not accurate while tracking your run. Went out for a practice run and did my normal route knowing this is well over 5k according to the app I had only completed 2.5miles
Didn’t work
I followed the instructions to the letter, even got my countdown to set off, and hey presto, thirteen miles in I’m told I’ve just completed my first mile. To be fair once it had kicked in I was wishing it hadn’t because the motivational stuff was cringy and woeful.
2 important bugs to fix in 2025 version
Bug 1- I took my fully charged Apple Watch on which I started the Outdoor Run workout as usual. I opened the LM 2025 app on the Phone for the 5K practice run. I tried it twice and both times the app was slower to record the distance ie we run more. The problem is especially steep if you go in a loop vs a straight line. /////Bug 2- the Apple Watch drained batter and went to low power mode at kilometre 30. This has never happened before. Just yesterday I did a 6 hour ride the previous fortnight a 50 k run and the watch was still running. I feel the watch gps is being pulled in some manner. I was hoping the watch would be the backup in case the app didn’t record the run but that is now looking dicey. Please fix in the next few days before the race
Tracking stopped
Was using the app on virtual marathon to find at mile 9 it had stopped at mile 3. Had to restart and continue listening to the wrong commentary, and the SAME quiz questions as four years ago. I have same phone as for past two years when the app was fine. No clear instructions what to do if you notice the app has stopped tracking. Felt a bit of let down after a hard long run. Subsequently figured how to send in replacement time but this hasn’t been actioned yet guess that’s because there is a backlog of folk with same issue
Share Tracking Doesn’t Work Properly
As a Mass Participant (Running at the Marathon event on the day) when using the “Share Tracking” button to share my own tracking link, people end up adding a completely different participant doing the Virtual London Marathon. They have the same number as me, but with a “V” in front, indicating they are in the virtual race.
This has caused a lot of confusion from family members. This could have been tested!
Really poor
I’m with the majority here… Trying to use this app on actual marathon day was useless!
Not a good advertisement for TCS, who I would presume hosted this app and had a hand in its design. It clearly couldn’t cope with the demands on race day when it came to tracking and usage. So as everyone mentioned, you couldn’t find where friends/loved ones were on the road…
Plus, there’s so much you could add to this app to make it actually useful:
Live travel tips/advice for racers and visitors
Station closures before/during the event
Track crossing points
Busy/Empty viewing points (and the best way to get to them or avoid them)
Live start/finish/track video feeds
Current location
Etc. etc.
We live in a world of mass Information Technology cloud resourcing and AI at the everyman’s finger tips. This is a premium World Wide event, but utilises an app no better than a popular fun-run…
Sort it out. A re-think/re-design is needed for next year!
Had the right info, easy to use
Was supporting runners on the day - they were easy to find through club membership and flag for tracking, tracking itself was good based on distance intervals, then used the course map to see where they were (and where I needed to be). Only enhancement might be live tracking on the course map itself.
App did not work still at mile 3 next day
App did not work. Common theme on the day with everyone. Lucky I had work times and places to where my runner should be. I could also help others to where their runners would be at certain time splits. Would be nice to be able to see the time splits of the runner I was supporting. Had lots of worried friends and family as they thought the runner had to pull out at mile 3.4. Fortunately they made it successfully to the end and everyone had a great time. Fab event sorry about the app
Worst App ever!
10 years ago my daughter ran that marathon, I could track her progress, get to meetings points in time to cheer her on & was able to tell her she’s only 7 mins behind her brother which spurred her on. With this App I got a message to say she had started & the was it, it didn’t work at all & everyone around me had the same issue. I as standing with her celebrating when I got an update to say she had finished & the time, well I already knew they because she was with me! Will never use this App again
Tracking problems
The app is easy to use but when tracking family and friends, even though you give splits as to where they are, when you press on the map it is taking me back to between miles 3 and 4 when the runners are at roughly 17 miles and 14 miles respectively
Nearly missed my dad crossing the finish line
The estimated finishing time was accurate but the tracker itself has some bugs. I think once they got to the top of the park and on the 26 marker it started to bug out for me and said my dad had finished the marathon when he hadn’t yet. If it wasn’t for the % done and the estimated time then I’d have missed him cross the line in the live stream
Maps failing
Used this as s supporter to track 2 runners today. Mostly worked ok, but tracking runners on the map (arguably the most useful feature) was extremely slow at the start and failed completely after about an hour. Started to work again later. Performance on map was unstable.
Less than helpful
I downloaded and entered in the people I needed to track for the day.
Having completed the marathon last year, I knew there would be black spots where it wouldn't work. As a spectator this year, the app was not helpful, it didn't load and we were left in the dark as to where best to see our family.
Something needs to be done as this app, and London for the matter, cannot cope with so many trying to access it 🤬
Can open via the App Store but not download
As the title says when I search for the 2025 app I can find it and get the option to open it. But I don’t have the option to download it. I have set up the runners I want to track. I have tried to send them belief messages but the submit button doesn’t appear to work or gives no indication that it has.
Very poor tracking
Tracking map often didn’t load. Most of the time when it did load, the position of the runners I was tracking had not refreshed.
I assumed the problem was poor signal but the split times were refreshing and I was able to track using a different web service on my phone to get accurate tracking data at the same location where the app was failing.
Not thought through
I get that the main reason this didn’t work well if you were in London for the marathon was the generally poor connection of the mobile internet on the day, but the fact that you couldn’t even access the marathon route offline made this app completely useless on the day
Just one tweak needed
Great app but frustrating that you have to keep switching from graph to splits when tracking a runners split times, the graph isn’t really that helpful - if you could default the view to show splits then that would be great.
Track on other apps for accuracy
It was our family members first time running the race so we relied solely on this app to track her. We couldn’t connect to the server and when we did, the marker would say she had gone past but she hadn’t. If you’re planning to watch someone in person definitely have a back up tracker so you aren’t relying on just this. It was a nightmare!
Not fit for purpose.
Embarrassing, considering it’s globally attended event.
Doesn’t load, glitches, doesn’t stay up to date.
Very difficult to locate yourself on the course map as there is no road names and the app has to reload if you click between pages to correlate with your location on Google maps.
Used find my friends instead.
Oh dear
You would think in a world where we are all about with technology they would be able to provide an app that actually works. This is useless!! Can’t track anyone, hello this is the London marathon surely you tested your software prior to its use. Don’t give me numbers are high all trying to use this app. It’s called forward planning. I would give this a minus -5 if I could.
Good but why doesn't it show where you are?
Really good tracking where runners are and with the notifications.
But really a pain that it doesn't show where you are.
