What's New

- Lots of UX improvements for the timeline editor: - Added a movement heat-bar to help you set the start/end of lifts/runs and avoid including time in lift lines. - Added labels ("Run #1") and duration to the lift/run blocks. - Live-updating of the lift/run's GPS path on the map while you drag the start or end to a new time. - Higher contrast for the full day's GPS path and the action you're editing. - Switched to Slopes's custom resort maps so it is easier to snap to lifts. - UI tweaks to modernize the screen and bring it more inline with iOS 26. - Slopes will no longer re-open to a recording or resort you looked at days ago. Instead we now only restore the last thing you were doing if it was within the past 10 hours or so. - Improved GPS recovery logic for rescuing briefly-lost location points. - Fixed multiple crashes on launch, including one that was sending some iOS 26 users into a crash loop. - Fixed a couple of crashes that could happen during or at the end of a recording session. - Fixed a crash for Ask to Buy users: if a parent approved an in-app purchase while you were waiting, the app could crash. - Fixed several crashes that could happen seemingly at random — loading resort details, network activity, and smart recording reminders. - Fixed crashes in the daily AR playback scene on iOS 26, usually related to opening and closing it multiple times.

Great, but could be better 3★
I love how it separates the runs by difficulty. In the Us and Canada, it also separates the runs and resorts by provinces. I wish that applied to the rest of the world. When you are trying to figure out what province something is in, it would be clearer if provinces were separated by dashed lines and countries with solid lines.

You lose your data is your watch dies 1★
It’s so dumb. I’ve had many issues where Slopes stops recording or if the watch dies, you lose your whole day of stats. Done paying for it. It used to work, and no longer does.

Slopes has been my go-to for many years now, since the mid 2015s or so when got tired of Strava thinking me on the lift was me skiing uphill. Every year it’s better. Solid integration w IKON pass this year saves me running two apps. Love being able to retrace my day.

Awesome! 5★
This app is GREAT! It really adds to my skiing experience. If I could make a suggestion, I would love to see the average angle of each run based on the distance vs vertical. The maximum doesn’t always mean much to me tbh, and occasionally feels sus.

Fun App 5★
Slopes has been a great way for my friends and I to keep track of our runs and the days we have skied this season! Our goal this year was to ski as many days as our age - which was a challenge given the conditions this year… Looks like some of us still may make it!

Solid tracking 4★
Really kills the battery on my watch so I typically use my phone. Great app to check out speed, distance and down hill Elevation skied. Really enjoy the free version and will likely pay for the extra features when moving to a more skiable area next season!

Great tracker, a few minor bugs to be fixed but I’ve yet to find better. 5★
Slopes has worked great for me. I appreciate the data it provides, and don’t find it to be obstructive or overly energy consuming. My most used feature, aside from tracking, is probably the visual map of open trails. It only disagrees slightly with reality on occasion, and that’s typically because the resort is opening up specific sections of runs during the early season and the app can only display trail status in binary. You wouldn’t, however, get much better from the resort trail status page as most lack a visual guide or map when slopes gives one - Palisades Tahoe is the only place I ski where I’ll use the resort’s website as they have a map that you can set to filter by open, I use the slopes map everywhere in CO where I live. The only minor complaint I have is about editing of sessions - occasionally, it won’t listen to me and the data won’t change after going in to edit. This was most apparent on a day that I was coaching a complete beginner - I think the low (read: near zero) speeds and low vertical rise of the lift we were taking confused the program enough that it only counted one run, and won’t update when editing. Oh well, only a few hundred feet of vertical lost. I’m sure I’ll make it up once the snow finally arrives!

Undisputed Best Mountain App 5★
I started using this app in 2018. I can’t compare it to other mountain apps, but I still wouldn’t switch regardless. It works perfectly with your watch or phone. The best way to review this is to tell you how it works on a typical snow day. 1. I arrive at the lift and open the “Slopes” app on my Apple Watch 2. It automatically knows what mountain you are on, so you just select your activity: —— Downhill: snowboard / skis / telemark skis / monoski /sitski / snowbike / other. —— Backcountry: skis / snowboard / splitboard / other —— Other Winter Sports 3. The app will start tracking your session, and you can put your phone away or cover your watch in your sleeve for the rest of your day. Optional Lunch: If you want to take lunch, open the app on your phone/watch and hit the pause button for a specified time or manually resume it. 4. At the end of the day, you tap the checkered flag, and it will load all your stats for the day. Stats: - # of Runs - Total Vertical - Total Time - Total Distance - Average Speed - Top Speed - Tallest Run - Peak Altitude - Longest Run Extra: if you connect your watch, it tracks your health. - Average BPM on runs - Max BPM - KCAL burned 5. Go home after your trip and open the app to see All Lifetime Stats. You will see the best scores for each category out of all your days on the mountain. BEST APP FOR THE MOUNTAIN

Best snow sports tracker app ever!!! 5★
Slopes is amazing. It tracks so many different winter sports and is pin point accurate on many different data points, like your total vertical, speed, EXACTLY how you skied a run, your elevation, and so much more. You can compete with friends, there’s so many different cool features and it’s so easy to use. Would 110% recommend to anyone who skis, snowboards, snowshoes, does backcountry skiing or snowboarding, and way more!!! Slopes has a world wide GPS of every ski resort ever with all the runs and chairlifts, and you don’t have to pay to use all of its amazing features that you could ever possibly need. It’s literally THE BEST. You can keep track of anyone you have as a friend on the app at their live location when they’re up on the mountain, making super easy to meet up with people and know where someone is. You can also call the local ski patrol with just the touch of a button, so if you don’t know the number and need to call that comes in super useful. It also links to your health data, so you can go over into the health app that comes with your phone and see your heart rate and more!

Not only unreliable, but disappointing 1★
I was so excited to start using this app, but from day one have had problems. The primary issue is that you can get through an entire day of runs, hitting speeds you wanted recorded, making tracks you wanted to review, understanding the vertical feet that you dropped, etc. This app is not only unreliable, which unto itself you might simply say “oh well, not a great app“, but this app actually is disappointing because after an exciting day on the slopes you sit down, open your pocket, take out the app and take a look at it - and it simply says “no GPS data recorded”. After the first time this happened I read the troubleshooting guide and it said that you needed to make sure you had a reliable connection. Next time I confirmed that I did (my other apps all recorded). Next time GPS data didn’t record I was told it was likely do to keeping the app in an outside pocket where the phone got cold - keep it in an inside pocket to ensure warmth and then it will record your GPS location - so I did. It still did not work. Today I skied at Breck in 38° sunny weather and finished the day, looked at the device, and it said “no GPS data recorded“. I would be OK if an app simply didn’t work, but when you’re so excited to see how you ripped down the mountain side, and this app, let you down, makes you realize that you need to start looking for other apps. I would not waste my time with this app.

Great App Overall, but one major flaw 3★
So this app overall is a very well designed app with a great UI and user experience for the most part and I work as a Product Manager in mobile app development as well. However, there is one major flaw with how this app integrates with Apple watches. The way this app integrates with Apple watches is that when you record a session, it will default to recording biometric and speed data from the Apple Watch, which makes sense because the data from your Apple Watch is more accurate than your phone. But, if you have an older Apple Watch where the battery life is not that great, your watch will die after about 4 hours. That’s fine on my end, however the way this app records data, is that if your watch dies it won’t save your session, so I had a full day of snowboarding in Japan today, and I went to look at my app, and at first I can see the data, but then I choose to switch to record data on phone, and then poof all my data from the day is gone. This has happened twice and I paid for the day pass and honestly would be great to get a refund. It should be a simple fix to have the app default to start recording speed and GPS data from your phone if your watch dies. Overall, great app except for this one major flaw.

Ski the World … YOU’RE COVERED 5★
I was skeptical at first, so I totally took advantage of a free trail and I think on the third day, I didn’t even wait to finish the trial, I just went ahead and subscribed! With the paid subscription, I was able to include the video of our group Skiing around the SellaRonda in the Dolomites in one single day. Yep, it was the 3D satellite version of our 26 miles of skiing in and around mountain peaks! Information was more than I wanted at first, but as time went on, I used it as a gauge to test my endurance. So much of the data it collects is so helpful for others later when you tell them about your trip, one person can look at your Slopes app with what you did and thoroughly enjoy the same imagery that you saw because the pictures you take also popped up. What a great and useful App! Data, geeks and freaks and extremist and all the other weirdos that like all this data will like this app but normal people like you and I will also love this app for the basic stuff that it has and it’s more than most other apps out there! My real name is JumpinJo and I approve of this platform

Slopes review 5★
Slopes is a guarantee for all skiers, snowboarders, telemark skiers, mono skiers, cross country skiers and much more! From beginner to legend, slopes does it all. It’s gps tracks your speed, runs, vertical, and much more. Its map is up to date with the closed and open trails. You can add another slopes user as a friend, and then you can compare you runs and how you did on those runs. With the slopes subscription, you can tell which run your friends are, have an option either to make the map 2D or 3D, and when your done with your winter sport, you can replay your runs. I’m order to compare runs with your friends, you need the slopes subscription but with the free version you can still compare top speed, most vertical in a day, total vertical, most runs, and most days on the mountain. The slopes subscription also lets you access much more premium options. Evan for people who wouldn’t pay for a winter sport app, slopes is worth it. The slopes app is capable of much more, and I didn’t list all its features. Thank you slopes developers, for making this wonderful app!

Works on my iPhone 6 again! 5★
At the start of the ski season, I tried to use Slopes, but iOS had offloaded it since I hadn’t used it during the off-season. I couldn’t get it to download again and after several tries, finally discovered that it now only works on iOS 13 and up. The developer claims you can keep using the old version, but if you have to reinstall, you can’t get the old one back. Now switching to a competitor that still supports iOS 12. As a developer myself, it’s generally a good idea to support at least the previous iOS version. Update: After the developer contacted me, I was able to reinstall an older version of the app. Apple did not make this easy to find. I added two more stars due to the developer’s prompt response. However, I would still like to see support for at least one iOS version back for new updates. Most apps I checked still support back to iOS 10. Update 2: The developer supports iOS 12 again! Greatly appreciated and definitely noticed performance improvements and less battery drain. Thanks again for making this change!

We got a winner… 5★
I recently started using Slopes and I have to say, I'm impressed! As a ski and snowboarding enthusiast, this app is exactly what I was looking for. It provides detailed metrics about my time on the slopes, which helps me track my progress and set new goals for myself. The user experience is top-notch, with a sleek and intuitive interface that makes it easy to navigate and use. I especially love the real-time tracking feature, which allows me to see my speed, distance, and other important stats while I'm skiing. This helps me to stay motivated and push myself to ski better. The app also has a great social aspect, as I can share my stats with friends and see how I stack up against other skiers. Overall, I highly recommend Slopes to anyone who loves skiing and snowboarding. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, this app is a great way to keep track of your progress and have fun on the slopes. So, if you're looking for a way to enhance your ski or snowboarding experience, give Slopes a try! You won't be disappointed!

Simply the best tracking app for winter sports! 5★
I've been using Slopes since 2014 and this app has simply never let me down. Some key features that I love: - Activity recording from my watch, heart activity, stats on your wrist - Replaying a session at the end of the day, with your pictures and your friends recording - Sharing a daily pass with a friend Another thing I love is that the app is updated with new features every other week. Curtis — who seems to be one of the nicest app developers on Earth — not only fixes raised issues as fast as possible, but also manages to add new features so often, always adopting Apple’s latest features: widgets, connect with Apple ID, family sharing, app available on macOS, live activities, etc. And this is not a one of, it's been like this since 2014. I've been recommending Slope to all my friends and family every time I arrive at a ski resort, and will continue to do so. I also recently subscribed to the family plan, because good work deserves to be recognized. Thanks Curtis!

Please try the 7 day premium trial for free!!!! Won’t regret it. 5★
If you are on trial then cancel the subscription b4 you legitimately use the app. This isn’t my app, nor have the developers given me ANYTHING to give this review. I benefit only by helping others find an awesome and useful app that is super cheap if year Subscription . Please let me know after exploring the premium version (free) only so we can give advice to the developers and have actual poll with a solid sample size to what needs improvement. Sent the developers idea s to hopefully have them update and make this an even better app. Please if you are participating send a response on this review in the form of clean constructive criticism. In world greatly appreciate your feedback so I can hopefully send the developers thought out suggestions; solutions; or raw ideas from users. Again I do not work for any app developers but this is a great affordable app for my favorite activity. Thank you very much for your support and advice.

Great Ski Activity Tracker 5★
I’ve been using Slopes for many years now, and it’s hands-down my favorite ski app. The Apple Watch integration is fantastic, especially the ability to start tracking directly from the Watch using the Action button on the newer models. It makes it effortless to start recording without fiddling with your phone or gloves. Slopes does an excellent job tracking all the important skiing and health metrics, and it presents the data in a way that’s both detailed and easy to understand. One of my favorite features is being able to relive past ski trips, going back years later to see where I skied, how I performed, and how things have changed over time is incredibly satisfying. And finally, I love using Slopes to compete with my son (who is objectively a better skier than me). The stats and comparisons make it fun and motivating—especially since I’m currently on top 😄. Highly recommended for anyone who skis and wants great tracking, insights, and memories all in one place.

🔥🔥🔥 5★
Fantastic app for any skiers/snowboarders looking to track their day on the slopes. The data the app gives even without the premium pass is still very cool and helpful. You can view your top speed, longest run length, a timeline of all lift rides and runs with an animation on a 2D map, etc. The premium pass somehow makes it 10x better, with precise lift and run times for each run, instantaneous speeds on any run, a 3D google-earth like view of your day on the slopes, a graph with your heart rate and speed along the timeline, and many other things that would take too long to list here. I would HIGHLY recommend this app, and if you can afford the premium pass, even just for a day or a single trip, I would also highly recommend it. The only issue I have had with the app is the last 90 min of one of my days not recording, which I think was due to me accidentally force closing the app; otherwise, it is absolute 🔥. I almost never write reviews, but this app deserved my time. (Which should tell y’all something)

Fantastic even though I’ve only used it for a day 5★
Luckily, I stumbled across this app in the parking lot at Snowbird waiting on the lifts to open. After looking through a couple of list of best ski trackers. I picked this one. Mainly because it had great reviews and promised not to kill your phone’s battery. I didn’t really even think much about it. Just turned it on and forgot about it. So it ran in the background all day, open to close 9-4. When I finished skiing I ended the session and started looking at the stats and maps of my runs. I have to say I was BLOWN AWAY with how much information was captured and offered to me. Even with only having the free version. For a entire day of skiing the battery only went down 30%. And that’s with me taking pictures, texting people, and generally not being afraid to use the phone. Not to mention being out in the cold. I had the phone in my ski shell pant pocket( ie no insulation). This developer obviously knows what he is doing and many people can benefit from it. I only get to ski about a week a year. But going forward I plan on getting the premium package that best suits my needs and letting it rip. This is one of the few times where I want to pay for the best the app has to offer. Simply because it is so good in the free version. It must be bananas with what’s on tap with the premium. Not to mention I enjoyed sharing the information with friends and family and WANT to support the developer. I’m really happy to have stumbled across this.

Issues Retrieving Resort Info 4★
I downloaded this app for my first trip out west thinking it would be nice to track my rides. For the most part, it’s been fantastic at recording my day! You really can set it and forget it for the most part. It’s jam packed with cool features that make it feel like you can “relive” some of your best days on the mountain via the logbook. Note: It’s not worth much without a paid membership, but that’s fine considering it’s the top-rated ski tracking app and you’re getting premium features. I have had a few missed runs/sections of the day, but that’s user error. (Forgetting to pause when switching basins, etc) But I do want to speak on one issue I’ve been having. Sometimes, it’s impossible to pull up resort info. Right now, if I try to search for any resort, no results will be listed. It’s almost as if the app is tying resort searches to your current location or something. I hope it gets fixed soon bc I’d like to bookmark resort pages to ogle over places to consider for next ski season.

Great without friends 4★
While the title might make you think I'm lonely, I can assure that's not the case. The app is great on its own, nice layout, easy and overall a great and engaging experience. The issue comes in when you want to connect friends on it. Me and a friend who have both used the app for a few years on our own became friends however, on the friends page it says that he has no stats whatsoever. This is weird as he has used it for years and it still has all the tracks logged, it's like they just didn't transfer to the friends section. We don't know why his do not appear. They don't appear on my app or his, but my stats do on both. It's not a huge deal and we usually discuss our stats in person, however, it would be nice to see eachothers and frankly it shouldn't have this issue in the first place. Though I have looked through the settings and haven't found anything that would prevent the transfer of his stats though I may be missing something. I hope there is an easy fix and will keep you all updated!

What would Jesse Pinkman do? 5★
I give a 5 star. I was gifted an Apple Watch for Christmas and have been recording as many days on snow as I can. (So far iv got 28 days, 258runs) I really enjoy being able to look back at my day and see each run, even with the free version. I am however very forgetful and sometimes forget to stop the recording and the app records my ride home as a result. I know I can edit those out with the features provided. I wish there was a way for the app to be able to recognize when iv left the resort, and am on main roads, so that an auto stop would activate and auto log while I’m driving. I get that that’s asking a lot for someone who’s lazy and just forgetting to simply hit stop, but i think, in my opinion, that it would make the app better. You’ve already improved in so many ways since the 26th of dec. and I thank you for that! Thank you for a lock, the stop without pause, and the safety features for glade trials.

Simply the best ski app out there 5★
I must first confess that I am a bit of ski nut. I have a demanding job and I travel a lot, so I don’t get to spend as much time as I would like on the slopes. But on the other hand, my travels allow me to experience different countries and snow conditions and I am always trying to squeeze in a day or two of skiing wherever I go. Slopes allows me to keep an exact track of the number of my sky days, and makes it easy to remember details about your day as it automatically uploads the pictures you took while out skiing, if you so desire. It also lists all the resorts you were in and shows you every run and lift you took, together with your verticals, max speed, and a bunch of data we skiers like to brag about. But the coolest feature and the conversation piece while enjoying après-ski is the ability to look at your day on a 3D model of the mountain you skied, and to “drop” it as an augmented reality piece on a table top, for all your friends to see through your phone screen as they walk around the table and see different angles of the AR mountain and your runs. It’s genius! It works beautifully with my Apple Watch 4. You start the app at the beginning of the day and you don’t need to worry about it until you stop skiing. Of course you can easily pause it while having lunch so you keep you recording “pure”. Finally, while the app runs all day while you are out on the slopes, it somehow does not deplete your battery. The drag on your juice is barely noticeable, and it will definitively leave you enough power to finish your day, brag about your skiing and then some! By the way, did I mention that it can automatically sync with Strava, so if you do other activities like running, swimming or cycling, your ski activity will sit nicely with your other training sessions. If I have a suggestion, it would be to add a measure of the steepest angle you skied during the day, as I have seen it on another ski app. This app has made my ski seasons even more enjoyable. I love it!

Excellent app from an excellent developer! 5★
Wow! Can I just say how impressed I am with my overall experience with this app and the developer! I researched skiing apps before choosing this one and it has exceeded expectations! I bought the Season Pass last year but this year I was able to use the Family Season pass for such a great deal and my other family members were able use their own accounts. This family pass option makes using slopes quite economical. (Even though I probably would’ve purchased it for myself and my husband anyway because the added features with the Season Pass make it well worth it.). When I wasn’t sure how to get the family share set up for the rest of the family I sent off an email. My emailed questions got a quick response from Curtis who walked me through what needed to be done. We also had an issue setting up my daughter’s Slopes Pass on an older phone and once again I had a quick email back with the help I needed. I have been showing off my Slopes app to all my skiing/boarding friends and recommending it them. Several have switch from other skiing apps because of the benefit of low battery usage and the fact that you can edit your ski day if you accidentally forget to turn it off. (Features not found on other apps.) Skiing with Slopes has given my ski day an added element of fun. Seeing the stats and speeds and being able to watch my whole ski day play out has been a hoot! I especially appreciate the remind feature that makes sure I don’t miss a ski day using my app. I never leave reviews about apps but I have been so impressed, I just had to share!

Best Sports Tracking App 5★
This app is amazing! Hands down the best sports tracking app and probably my favorite app to use period. Not only does it flawlessly track my ski runs, it is so simple to use. Just show up at the ski area and the app auto-detects where you are, hit start on your watch and off you go. Auto-pauses and auto-resumes when youy stop at the lodge for a bite to eat. Will detect when you accidentally drove off and didn't stop recording. Has weather and maps for many resorts, not just handful of the biggest resorts. Great watch integration. I can keep going, but the best part is how affordable it is. The free version is really good but the developer gives multiple options for the premium version from single day use up to annual pass and they are all an incredible value. Can't say enough good things about this app and the developer keeps making improvements. Support him so he can keep up the awesome work!

My favorite ski tracker 5★
I’ve used most of the ski tracking apps out there and this one is my favorite. It will automatically track from my watch even if I start it from my phone and the battery drain is far less than other apps I’ve used. No issues making through a full ski day. Their customer service is very responsive and has always been helpful and kind. This year I finally decided to pay for the premium pass after using the free version for about 5 seasons just to support the developers. The free version is great and the premium can be single use or subscription. Thank you for giving us options! To the app devs, thanks for making an incredible app with a quality free service that isn’t so limited that it is not worth using. You all are doing a great job listening to users and adjusting things to fit our needs!

Pleasantly Surprised with Slopes 4★
Great features and UI. This app on the iOS side is robust, stable and cutting edge. I love the feature where you can compare runs with friends. Also love the ability to edit out car time in car between runs, but I wish it would allow you to re-sync with Strava after recorded data from car rides are edited out. It seems that it only does the immediate sync of real-time data to Strava only once after you stop recording. I’ve even tried to disconnect and reconnect to Strava and data didn’t re-sync even after the app asked if I wanted to upload recent activity (‘recent’ isn’t defined). Finally, the synced runs in Strava don’t provide heart data but the developer is working on that with Strava. Overall, though, while the $25 annual unlimited membership seems a bit much I think the $40 family plan (up to 6 in a household) makes it worth it if everyone skis/rides. Again, I love the app despite the cons above because the pros outweigh for sure.

Solid app but the UI is fustrating 4★
I enjoy using this app quite a bit as an avid snowboarder, but after updating the app recently it’s a bit frustrating to use. I especially appreciate the summarize functionality that allows you to chose a preset or custom background and generate a report of your stats for the day. After the update to the user interface I was under the impression the custom image functionality was removed, I was wrong but I believe the process of doing so has been changed, it took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how to customize it again with my own images. When you look at your logbook, you won’t see your previous entries for the season listed as before, as was the case in previous updates. Now, you have to open the map of resorts where you have logged data and select the point on the map where you uploaded your data. I don’t understand the decision behind this—possibly a bug? I’m really not sure. Additionally, now the images that you take in a day are automatically attached to your report for the day, maybe I’m nitpicking here but I liked having the control of choosing from the pictures/videos I gathered to attach to my recording. Besides that, it’s a really cool app for tracking your progress and comparing your progress with your friends, and I really like the ability to find where you are on a mountain. It’s a great app and I’ll continue to use it but I don’t think I will renew my premium subscription as it stands. The user interface changes are frustrating, and make navigating the app less intuitive in my opinion.

Great app, could use one improvement 4★
I’ve been looking for an app to track my snowboarding for sometime now and am really happy to finally find it. Easy to use, GPS based location is great considering other apps I have used can’t lock it down, Strava integration (I don’t like Strava’s on slope recording compared to its cycling accuracy), and Watch integration. All around a good app with some cool features. I’m not a premium subscriber yet as my main riding partner is in a cast and I won’t be going to any big resorts this year, but I am looking forward to using my day pass to try out the features. My one complaint, and this may just be with my Watch itself, is that the Siri integration for Slopes doesn’t work on it. I say “hey Siri, start snowboarding” and the Fitness app pops up. It works fine on my phone, but not on the Watch. Like I said, could be a Watch thing, but I would like the ability to use voice control confidently. Aside from that one hiccup, which is probably just user error, a great app that I highly recommend.

Overall 3★
The app is very solid I've used it 12 times this year. The UI is much better than ski tracks which was sold & now not worth the new subscription. The app just rolled out a new feature with Ikon where you can opt in to just use slopes tracking instead of both apps. They claim it will transfer all the data once you closed out the day on slopes. I've found this not to be the case however as i did opt in on slopes but yesterday skied a full day at Deer Valley and had 0 data flow to Ikon. The first time I tried it after agreeing to the pairing it did work. However not I opted out and will just go back to using both. I did reach out to them to see if anything could be done but they told me to contact Ikon. Ikon told me they cannot go back retroactively & retrieve data. My partner had the exact same issue the same day so I believe they rolled this out without QC. Thus the reason for the 3 stars. Otherwise it's a great app just don't link up with Ikon tracking on their preferences option.

First Class! 5★
I’ve been a subscriber since the first version of the app and am a very happy subscriber. For the price of a couple hours of a ski lift pass, this app gives all the information about your day’s activities - and then gives historical analysis as well. I’ve never experienced a crash or a freeze - it does what is says it will reliably. The app has frequent updates and uses little power on an Apple Watch. I once connected with the developer to suggest some improvements and got a rapid response (which surprised me!) and the implemented the suggestions in due course. If you’re a keen skier or boarder, this is definitely worth a few of your hard bucks! Worth noting that you can wait your day’s recording easily when you don’t tell the app you’ve finished for the day and jump in a car or bus - this is something you can’t do on Apple’s native fitness app.

Amazing on any device, paid or free, any trip! 5★
Okay, so I've had this app for about 6m and today I finally got to use it as I haven't been out on the slopes. This app is simply amazing. Not only is it great on Apple Watch. Old iPhones (tried on IPhone 5), and new iPhones, but it's also very accurate on all of them. It got my exact times (times Myself with atop watch) shows you any wipeouts, slowdowns, speeds, and everything you cAn think of. It shows you very single run in 3D mode, and even a satellite view of the mountain, showing exactly on the trail you were at, showing all your turns. That one is a paid feature, but with all the amazing paid features I recommend getting a one day pass. I don't ski often, so it's totally worth it. If you ski at least twice a week, maybe get a liger pass. It's amazing for casual skiing for a hobby like myself, or if your a racer or comp skier. Would 1000% recommend.

Could be Better 3★
I love the app! It’s good, but there is a lot that can be improved. I would rate it more positively if there were reviews for every run. Let’s say, the top speed, distance, average speed, and time for every trail you ski or ride. Also, the time on the chairlift and lift line time (as well as other breaks) are added into your average speed. This doesn’t bother me much, but when comparing with friends who use other apps, I always have a speed of around 3 mph when they have averages of 24 mph. Some apps I’ve used (which have [sadly] been taken out of the App Store) recorded numbers of jumps and names of trails. When talking with friends today on the lifts, we decided that the app should totally show the names of the trails you skied and have trail maps readily available. Along with the maps, I always wished the app would show which trails were closed, and which chairlifts were running. Other than these suggestions, the app is great!! Though I have had better apps, this one is definitely at the top. 👍

This app is god! 5★
Just took this for a full day of sending with some friends and I really like this app. The speed tracker is wicked and I was super hyped when i broke 50mph. The mapping is also amazing, you can see each of the runs you did and the lifts you used. I was also amazing at just how far and high we skied. You would think that the gps recording and speed tracking takes a toll on your battery. It turns out it didn’t really at all! The app uses the gps and speed stats from the Apple health trackers and it’s relatively energy efficient. I started at 89% and on low power mode, with a bit of snap chatting and phone calling my phone dropped to only 56%. All in all I highly recommend this app. It’s made by one rad guy who wants to improve our days, which he definitely has. Also, everything I talked about is completely freeeee! So download this app and enjoy your adventure on the mountain.

Great app, our 2nd season 5★
I started using this app at the end of 2024 for four days. We liked it and said we’ll try again next year. In 2025 we used it once my son loved it and now we have the family plan. I love that I can see where he is on the mountain if we get separated he loves that he can track all his metrics and relive his runs over the course of the day. We’ve recommended it to other friends and he’s got buddies now that are using it. I love the data showing actual time at the mountain amount of time spent on the lift and the surprisingly small amount of time actually going down the trails. It puts your day in perspective. The app is lots of fun and on larger ski days it helps us have conversations around what trails we took and what runs we thought were the most. Thank you and keep up the good work slopes!

Simply The Best 5★
As one who lives in a ski resort, skiing is a part nearly everyday life. I’ve tried many ski tracking apps and none compare to Slopes. This app is by far the most comprehensive, accurate, and intuitive apps you’ll find for tracking your skiing or snowboarding. It provides a wealth of detail on your ski day and the integration with Photos and Apple Health makes it the single app you need. Beyond this, I have never had better support with a developer of an app in the App Store. Recently I had an issue with my Family plan. The support team (Emma in particular) worked tirelessly to get it fixed and made sure my account and those of my family remained active as they sorted out the issue. Bottom line: This is the best app for skiers and snowboarders and it backed by an awesome support team. Tap the GET button. You’ll be happy you did 👍🏻

Decent but not great 5★
Rode morning and afternoon and recorded separately, gave me an option to “Merge” the two and it deleted the whole afternoon which was the whole day but 3 runs. Maybe I need to brush up on my understanding of the English language but when I see merge I think combine. What happened to me seems a lot more like replacing or overwriting, which is in no way what I wanted. Besides that it is pretty much what it says it is. The app for the watch is cool, seeing my speed every run is nice. Would be much better if it told you how long your last run was at least on the watch, like a summary of the last run of some sort. Didn’t really get to see the little map thing it generates of your runs since it deleted most of my day. Decent but really could use some improvement. “Merge “is NOT synonymous with “overwrite with”. Very irritating.

Great app! 3★
The app has recently stopped working on my iPhone 11. I’m able to begin recordings through Siri, and view data on my watch, so I know that the app is recording, but for some reason it won’t open on my iPhone. I’ve tried a soft reset and I’ve reinstalled the app, but for some reason, it displays a transparent window. The app interface is only part of the experience though! This team has really done their work, everything runs perfectly on the WatchOS side. I feel comfortable leaving my phone in my backpack and recording with Siri commands on the watch microphone. Slopes also integrates amazingly with the base Apple systems: calories and HR information are viewable without the Health app, and I can even forward that information to third party apps without issue! As a recent health nut, it’s amazing to have my daily recommended calories change based on a day of snowboarding! When the app works on iPhone, it’s amazing. I walked through my brother’s runs with him this evening and we were able to pinpoint falls and changes in snow condition throughout the day it was so accurate (he was using the app without the watchOS companion). He’s got the iPhone 12 and the included AR is ROCK SOLID with a LIDAR sensor. I was able to trace his runs in real space with my finger on top of a virtual mountain. INCREDIBLE!!! This developer is dedicated and I’m excited to see that they’re interacting with customer reviews! The only other complaint that I have is that there doesn’t seem to be a place on their website to submit support questions directly.

Simple to Use 5★
I have used the MC Pass in two different ski areas and it has been seamlessly accepted without going to the ticket window or asking anyone at either resort! It is as if you have a season pass to all of these ski areas!! Looking forward to using it at two more ski areas this upcoming week!! Thank You for such a Great App!!! All the while tacking my ski activity using this Great Slopes App! My friend at Sun Valley turned me on to it and it is fantastic. Great to find friends on the mountain and know your activity for the day and so simple to use! Turn it on once and you’re done! It even has an auto feature to turn on, I have learned!! Well done! Only improvement I can suggest would be to allow manual entry of a missed day for # of runs and even an estimate for the vertical feet skied that day. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

The more I use it, the more impressed I am 5★
It took me a day to adjust but once I got a feel for the app, I started to appreciate it more and more. There are so many thoughtful features like replays or the interactive map or being able to track unofficial runs; but what I appreciate most is being able to find your friends on the mountain WITHOUT having to “create a group” every. single. time. That one less step makes such a huge difference, I can’t even tell you. And to have the choice not to share, if you don’t want to. Well done. Thank you! PS. One feature that would be super helpful is to be able to edit our “end time” in the event we forget to end our session before leaving the mountain. Many of us have accidentally tracked our drives home & our top speed times are ridiculous! 🤣

Great App 5★
Wish I downloaded this app sooner. I always use Slopes because I thoroughly enjoy beating my last season stats. I also use it as my snow season diary. It’s awesome that the photos I took during my send is automatically attached to my day. I’ve been digging the new features like being able to download maps for offline use and peer recorded weather updates. My only request would be that you can view a trail map of the resort as one of the map layer options when you view your run details. Right now you can only view in winter or satellite layer. I’ve also noticed that some resort maps are only a portion of the resort and not the entire resort. Overall, I think it’s an awesome app and am grateful for all the new updates every season. My partner and I have been premium subscribers for 3 seasons now and we both think it’s totally worth it. Thanks Slopes app!!

Great ski tracker 5★
It’s hard to find fault with this app. I do have one request, which I’ll lead with. Some of us hike to certain runs or off piste spots. Here at aspen Highlands, the Bowl is a daily ritual. Slopes tracks the hike perfectly, but seems to think it is a lift for calorie tracking purposes. I can assure you it is not. Since Slopes knows where all the lifts are, it would seem a simple matter to track this uphill high altitude trail. I love how accurate Slopes is. It captures every run perfectly, even the intermittent rest stops. The distances and speeds are great. The map of my ski day is fun. It helps me remember how many days I do what in a year, which I love. The real test will be in Japan later in the season, where on and off piste skiing is on tap. It would be nice if it tracked hiking (and skinning) separately for what it is, rather than lumping it into the lazy uphill category. Great app!

5hrs of boarding data lost after app crashes 4★
I’ve used this app for 4 years now and I used to love it. Now they raise theirs prices $5 every year (way ahead of inflation), at this point they’re milking every penny out of their customers, while pushing for auto renewal (trashy dark-pattern). They keep adding more and more features that I don’t use or care about. While the CORE FUNCTIONALITY, recording my runs during the day is completely useless after the app crashes at the end of the day. I’d expect the app to work flawlessly when I pay 30$ A SEASON. But it seems the developer has just become greedy, adding all kinds of feature while ignoring their most basic functionality. Maybe focus on your roots, and make your team lean to focus on what really matter. I won’t be paying for any subscription moving forward. Every year is more issues and disappointments.

Stop looking another tracking app and get Slopes 5★
TL;DR get Slopes if you are interested in any sort of ski/snowboard tracking This is the only ski/snowboard tracking app you will need. Once you download and try it you will be hooked. We used to only be able to know who got to the bottom of the run fastest, and just try our hardest to remember how many runs we did, did we ride Montezuma 3 or 4 times before lunch, I lost count. Not any more! Every stat you can think of is tracked, lift time and line time, actual riding time, speed, distance, altitude, runs, heart rate (with Apple Watch), gps map of your runs, 3D map of your runs, and some many others. Now you can see exactly how many runs you did and who is getting to a higher speed during the run! I was able to pinpoint exactly how fast I was riding when I crashed and dislocated my shoulder (39mph), but don’t tell my wife. On top of the already awesome app, it keeps getting regular updates! I thought to myself, it would be great if the Apple Watch app tracked heart rate, not a month later it was added. Then I though it would be cool if you could see a graph of this, again a month later that feature was added. I don’t have any more ideas but I’m sure something else I love is coming.

I hate one thing. 4★
It’s a great app and I love competing with my friends. I just don’t understand why it stopped recording while I was skiing! I got a notification saying something along the lines of “iOS quit slopes to free up memory for another app you were using. Launch slopes to start recording.” and I didn’t feel my phone buzz because I wore three layers due to the cold temperatures and wind. The app stopped recording at 21,000 vertical feet, but I would’ve gotten 31,000! I found out that I would’ve gotten 31k vertical feet because I checked at lunch and I got around 15k and my dad started recording after lunch and got 16k. Luckily, the day before I got 24k vertical feet which beat all of my friends, but it is very annoying when slopes stops recording. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon, but I think it will because the creator of slopes always fixes things fast!

I love this app! 4★
This is my third season using Slopes and I love all the information you can get on a free app. Not only does it break up your day to actual run time and lift time but it gives you average speed and allow you to pause for breaks. It is very easy to use and the support team is great! My only issue with the app is that the calories burned count is confusing to me since it is really high when I compare it to another calorie tracker that estimates calories for down hill skiing. On that app my 1 hr and six minutes of actual downhill ski time in 3 hours of being on the hill was 306 cal while slopes said I used over 518 calories. That is a big difference! Last year I spoke with Kelly on the support team to try to understand it and She said they would work on it but it hasn’t changed. Except for that one thing which may not matter to many, it does exactly what I need it to do.

This app is amazing and has minimal bugs/flaws 5★
I love this app, I find it’s tracking accurate and it’s stats overview is great. It has everything a skier/snowboarder could want. You can just hit go and it’s ready to track at whatever resort you are at and it knows where you are. The Apple Watch companion app is also great and works well. My only complaint is that it kills the battery fast but this is because it uses the gps all day. But slopes solve this problem by having a low power mode option that disables the GPS on lifts or you could buy a third-party battery bank to charge your watch at lunch. Battery should not be a problem with the Apple Watch Ultra though I have the se so battery life is more of a problem for me.

Do better 1★
This app has many great features that are convenient and help you improve. It also helped me quickly find skip patrol for a friend who was injured. However, as someone who is tracking their entire day in the app to monitor speed, mileage, and other stats, the app has a lot of ways to go. There have been multiple times where I go to end my day skiing and the app crashes and then deleted the entire days worth of recording. There is no good explanation for the fact that I can one second see that I skied 17 miles and 16,000ft of vertical drop and then the next second it’s just all completely gone. Where is this data stores throughout the time it’s recording? 8 hours of valuable data shouldn’t just disappear into thin air because the app closes. It needs to be stored locally or in the cloud and save throughout the day. Complete embarrassment of an app that requires an expensive subscription. I’m disappointed and won’t be renewing that’s for sure!

Best ski tracking app! 5★
I’ve used another ski tracker (Ski Tracks)for a long time, 7-8 years now. It was very good, but Slopes is even better. It does an excellent job of tracking runs even if you don’t have a paid subscription. But, the price of admission is totally worth it for what you get. The detailed run stats and 3D maps make for reviewing the days activities very easy and fun. The mapping is even better than what I am used to from Ski Tracks. The Apple Watch integration is amazing - just start your tracking from the Watch at the beginning of your day and you’ve always got detailed info on your wrist throughout the day....best of all it saves HR data so you can view that at the end of the day with your other stats. What sold me on Slopes was the built-in integration with Strava. This is the only area that I would currently like to see some upgrades. After communicating with the developer, sounds like that is on Strava’s end. Currently some of the speed data doesn’t get linked properly, but the real important stuff like distance & vertical flow over nicely. All in all this is a very solid tracker, worth the paid price. Pick it up before your next day out on the slopes!

Best ski tracker, no comparison 5★
Works flawlessly. So easy to use, if you go to a new mountain it knows where you are immediately. The data feels very accurate. It’s always within a few hundred feet of epic mix and while I have no way of verifying this I believe slopes to be more accurate. Running slopes all day in addition to music does not significantly affect my battery life. The 3D replay is awesome. It’s cool to see where you were in the trees or off piste when it’s not always obvious. I don’t think the calories burned is accurate as I’ve gotten similar numbers if I’m on bumps vs groomers but this should be fixed with the new update if you use it with Apple Watch and hr. My only wish at this point would be for some sort of leaderboard. Either way this is the best ski tracker app there is.

So I love this app and use it all the time, but there is one problem that I have ran into multiple times.. its whenever I get near a mountain I ski at, in one certain spot the app starts spamming me with notifications, the ones that are like “you are near a ski mountain, start recording?” it just keeps going and it gives me like 5 notifications per second and it is super inconvenient. I dont know much about what you can do but if its possible, maybe set something like a cooldown timer on the notification, like after you get one of them you cant get another for maybe another five minutes or so? Besides this annoying inconvenience, I love the app and will continue to use it.

Nice ski tracker 4★
I really like this app. It will track your runs, record your speed, elevation, vertical feet skied, etc. It’s fun to see all your tracks at the end of the day. The reasons I gave it 4 stars are because: 1) when I started my slopes session on my Apple Watch, I wasn’t able to see any of my recorded tracks on my phone until I ended the session at the end of the day. With ski gloves and layers of clothing covering my watch it’s not easy to get to it. Anyway it’s a minor issue. I will have to remember to start my session with my phone. 2) the friends feature doesn’t really seem to work. I’ve added a few of my friends I ski with also have slopes and while I can see them in my logbook, I can’t see them in the friends section. I only see myself listed with no one else. Also, when I first reviewed my day sking I could see my friends tracks as well as mine, however, that has since disappeared. 3) it’s more expensive compared to other ski trackers. It might be that other ski trackers are ad supported in which case I can understand the price difference. Lastly, for a future enhancement can you include a trails % grade I’m skiing on? Maybe the average grade and max grade? Thanks for making this app. Looking forward to future enhancements.

Excellent App for Casual Riders who want to know more! 5★
I want to start this review by saying that I have spent zero dollars on the app and have only experienced the free stuff. I go on between 3 and 5 trips a year and I started using the app a little over a year ago. This app is perfect for anyone who wants to track their days on the mountain. I use the Apple Watch app to start & pause my runs and it automatically records a snowboard workout in the activity app! Last year, I got my friends to download the app so we could see who got the highest top speed. Even without the premium features, this is the perfect app for someone who wants to have the trail map, run data, rider-reported mountain conditions, and a ski patrol help button in one place!

Awesome, but short of potential 4★
This app fills in a gap that other activity-tracker apps like Strava completely miss. I will continue to use this app as long as Strava does not release a competitive feature. This is because Strava lets me record data from my heart rate monitor, and Slopes does not (*ahem, please imlement this*). In addition, I am continually frustrated by the beautiful map of the world's ski resorts on the app's home screen, as it does not let me open up the map to have a scroll around! That would be an awesome, and easy to implement feature making it easier to branch out and find new resorts to ride. Also, having to pay money to download resort maps? Seriously? I can just save the photos to my camera roll. That's it, Awesome app, but I feel it needs a *pinch* more love.
