Update Jun 26 1★
I hate the new update. I want my scores and HI showing on the front page!

New update still not fixed anything! 1★
Search for players/golfers is not working. On the search screen you can’t get rid of the keyboard once it pops up to go to other functions. Notification of a score awaiting approval has gone. The counting rounds clear green is now a very pale and very small flag. IMHO it hasn’t improved, it’s got worse.

Latest update poor 2★
Almost everyone I’ve spoken to at my club feels the latest update is a poor one Main thing people want to see is their history and which scores count The new main screen is cluttered and now requires several clicks to get to the page you want to

Bad redesign 2★
This is a bad redesign. Hard to use now. Clearly this was rushed through and not user tested

Revamped version 2★
This new “improved” version has a couple of nice new features but is badly let down by some basic UI issues and breakages in functionality that it should never have been released with. Good - Ability to select the handicap allowance - 95%, 90% etc. on the calculator page - Groups. Can add friends(or golfers now) to a group and then see the course or adjusted handicaps for an entire group on the calculator page. Great for society days as you can see everyone’s playing handicap for the day without going to every single person’s page. Bad - Home page. Banner is way too big, around 40% of the screen area on an IPad. Then "golfers" scores are shown before my recent ones. As others have said, the main point of this app is to see my scores. If I want to see everybody else's scores, I would go to a dedicated page like before. - Scores page. Font is too small and can see that they have distinguished between social and competition rounds using the outline of each score and then the light green flag to show counting ones. This might work on a PC screen, but does not work at all on a tablet or phone. There are so many better ways to present this, just ask an actual UX person. - Player search/peer review. Can no longer search for a club then search for the player in that club. It must be broken because the options on this page are just filters. Unless someone is a friend or in your club, you can't check their handicap, which is essential when playing in something like the TravisMathew matchplay comp. - Same problem as above but with the attestation. They have to be in your club or a "friend". - My home club isn't even set as my Home club in the app, it's an Away club. Can't see how to change this in the app or the website. It would be more useful to have a favourite clubs that you can manage yourself and get quick handicap calculations for them. The app wasn't great before but it did a job and had sensible visuals. This is a bad regression.

Disappointing Update 2★
Why has the recent update removed the highly visible indicators for counting rounds and replaced them with something less striking? Can someone explain why this would be considered useful?
GB · recent
2026 updates 1★
Wow! Not user friendly at all. The green highlighted scores have been replaced by a small faint flag - not good. Trying to find golfing friends in there is now a nightmare….the list of options that pops up makes no sense….what are ‘my clubs’? Why do I get ‘no results’ when searching for people at my club? Sorry…but it’s not user friendly…..I’ve stopped using it and now refer to IG…such a shame, such a useful app before the changes.

Update 3★
I like the new functions but the homepage is cluttered . I don’t want to see all my friends scores before I see mine and have to press a button to see my scores. Also your best scores are now difficult to see along with your 20 score cut off line . Make those dark green and it would be better

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it ! 1★
What used to work perfectly well is now less intuitive, harder to navigate, harder to see & has the added ability to throw perfectly good cards into the abyss with no way of finding them to remind playing partner to attest the score. Genius.

Lack of ability to search other golfers 1★

What’s happened to the clear visibility of your counting scores? Why do you want to group friends?! Why can’t I see my details first! How do I add stats? Why can it sync with my Garmin? Definitely feels like a backward step.

Bad update 1★
Can’t see anything clearly anymore. The green flags are too pale and all the numbers in the summary table too small. Much easier to go in on my h on me page and then click to friends in on place. It’s a jumble and not easy to get used to.

Bugs bugs bugs 1★
New update - new and improved? No! Cannot find anyone easily like before. Most of us now need to search using member number. Takes a long time to see your score - when eventually accepted. Worse layout than before. The only update needed is the silly two hour window after a game to submit a score. Just scrap that - and let is submit straight after game. Terrible signal at the golf Course (Lullingstone Golf) so very frustrating to submit scores. 2 stars is only as it’s just about ok - and eventually updates scores. However, Not user friendly or professional and puts off anyone trying to get a handicap

App works perfectly all the time it’s working. Mine resets around 2-5 times per round making it extremely frustrating. Also the new Handicap pale green highlight flag is terrible. Go back to bold green highlight. Much better 👍

Changes have made this app unusable 1★
The previous app version had a clearer layout and logic to it from a user view. I now cannot search players at all. Previously club search was available this is now gone. The app loads slowly and the score and table view now looks cluttered.

Joined the app in April 2026,managed to get 4 scorecards posted and it gave a random handicap, don’t know how they worked out I was an 18 handicap when my cards were 105,97,103 and 94,, But now I can’t even get a card verified because it won’t find any of my friends or the membership numbers of the course they’re members of,,and now I’m being threatened by a penalty because I can’t finish my card off

Absolutely awful 1★
This is the first and only App Store review I’ve ever written. That’s how spectacularly bad this app has become since the so-called “upgrade”. At first, I was delighted to see that rounds played outside England and Scotland could finally be entered. Unfortunately, that moment of optimism lasted about as long as a three-foot putt. Rounds now seem to exist in a state of quantum uncertainty. They may or may not appear. They may or may not be attested. Your playing partner may or may not receive the attestation request. Nobody knows. Schrödinger himself would be impressed. Even better, some rounds simply disappear into the ether without explanation. The app routinely fails at the most basic function it exists to perform: recording and processing golf scores. The whole thing feels less like a finished product and more like a beta test that was accidentally released to the public. If England Golf built this in-house, the development team should be nowhere near another software project. If it was outsourced, England Golf should demand a refund, recover every penny possible, and find a partner capable of delivering an app that can manage the revolutionary task of saving a golf score. An upgrade is supposed to make things better. This one has turned a functional app into a masterclass in how not to release software.

The latest update has made the app so much more difficult to navigate and the ‘counting’scores are almost impossible to see with the tiny green flag -please bring back the larger green circle .my rating for the previous version would have been 5 stars but won’t bother with this app if stays like this .

Reminders 3★
Since the app was last updated to the new design, i am unable to send a score approval reminder, i am also unable to see the pending scorecard. Besides this, the app has always been okay, not so keen on the “advert” splash screen on first load up.

What a shame. 1★
I agree with so many other reviewers that this is a palpably retrograde update. The most useful and clear aspects of a simple but useable app are now obscured by functionality that most of don’t want and won’t use. It’s that bad that it cries out to scrapped and replaced by the previous version.

Terrible 1★
What an awful “upgrade” was this ever tested with any members? I doubt it, sponsors probably like it though. Was so easy to see counting scores before now a very wish washy green flag. How about work for your members rather than sponsors.

Improve colours 3★
I don’t like the new update, the home page shows friends first - would prefer my scores to show first. The colours are too pale, the counting scores are not easily identified with the pale green flag - would be better as a dark green. Generally very wishy washy. Improve the colours and it would be great.

Don't update! 1★
The latest update is awful. You can't easily see your last 8 qualifying rounds. The scale on the graph is too small on the Y axis, so you can't easily see variances in scores. The font is too small and needs to be darker. Older golfers struggle to see the text, especially outdoors. Size and contrast need to be improved to make it legible for people over 40 with small screens. A major step backwards. Is there no user testing of new releases before launch?
GB · recent
Please fix it 1★
Since this is the only App you can use to post and update your official handicap it is scandalous that it constantly crashes when doing so and you lose your ability to post your round. It was perfectly fine before the redesign. Why is England Golf associated with such appalling tech?
GB · recent
Terrible redesign 1★
They have redesigned the app to make it more about social features rather than the actual primary use of the app, placing “friends” above your recent scores! Like anyone is actually using that over checking their scores?!? Why do I now have to click through to see my graph and full latest scores? That is literally the primary reason we use the app - to track our handicap trend. Now we are greeted with a useless, narcissistic “MY EG” filling up half the home page. I already know it’s MY EG because I selected the app! I don’t need it to tell me in the app! Also, it’s become less clear which scores are counting and not, as they’ve replaced a big green circle with a piddly little flag and poorly contrasting colours… FIRE THESE UI FOOLS YOU HIRED TO MAKE THE APP LESS FRIENDLY ASAP

This app doesn’t really work for the real world Jon-member golfer 1★
Aside from problems connecting in rural spaces and insisting you use your at the golf club (which is frowned soon or downright banned in many clubhouse and on courses themselves) this app is far too restrictive. For something designed to attract new people to the game it’s too rooted in old-world stuffy golfer thinking. It assumes that people will cheat and be dishonest about scores and so restricts how and when you can up load them, insisting you’re near or on the course you’ve played and can corroborate your score with an existing member of the course you’re playing. This doesn’t reflect many people’s playing patterns and as such means it’s very cumbersome to get the required criteria to upload a round. You’d have to be pretty dedicated to use this, and I think you might as well join a course as try to use this stupid and compromised excuse by a governing body to extract money from casual players while trying to appease a clearly frustrated membership who they’re likely undercutting. Nice try but neither robust enough to deliver integrity it tries so desperately to offer nor accessible enough to be used easily in the real world of casual golf.

Make Handicap Index clearer 4★
Nice to have the app up and running so soon so we’ll done England golf. I’m sure over time new and improved features will be added. The main thing you need to do right away is make the Current handicap index much bigger and clearer. The main reason for this app is to quickly check your current index to then work out shots you receive on the day. Currently it’s very small at the top above the score graph. At the same time the list of your most recent scores and the index you had on your last round is more visible. As a Club Secretary I have noticed players use that much clearer figure thinking it’s their current index without noticing the small correct one at the top. Make it bigger MYEG!! It’s the main info we all need to be correctly identified and then used. Overall though it’s great to have quick access app and Keep up the good work!

Fairly good 3★
I’m just your average golfer who really enjoys playing golf. When I first got the app I thought it was pretty good app but after having it for a year or so there is a few things I’m not to keen on. When you are in the middle of nowhere having a game, you can forget putting your score in because you have to be next to the course and with poor signal it just won’t let you put in the scores at all. I currently have a problem where I have put my score in and a friend has signed it off all good and well but once accepted it seems to delete it self when I log back onto the app. I have to resend the same score card off to a friend weeks after playing. Even tho I live miles away from the course? Also there is some well known courses where I live but when you go to create a score card it just won’t come up with the markers but the course does. so I’m paying £40 a month to maybe get like 3 cards submitted.

Good so far 4★
Using this app seems so far relatively easy. I am new to golf and just recently obtained my official handicap. So far the only issues I have had are - a score has appeared on there when I was at work 280 miles away from the club I am registered at, so now trying to get the club to delete it as the feedback from the contact page is it’s down to the club. - second issue we we playing at my club and there was some IT issues not only for me. Even the young member of staff couldn’t work out the issue. However we worked around it only to get the auto generated email saying add a score or get a penalty. There is a score on there for that day so now waiting a reply. Don’t want a penalty for actually playing a round of golf

Horrific App & User Experience 1★
I’m not sure who created or maintains the app, but bearing in mind they have the entire English golf playing population held to ransom in using this as standard, it has to be the worst app I’ve ever used. Rather than a rant, here is some feedback: Your login process is slow at best, at worst - unusable. Create better and quicker login and auth methods with more scalable databases. The search functionalities were created by someone who clearly doesn’t ever use the app. Spend time with actual users everyday on a golf course for a week - add people, find courses and see how unresponsive it is - EVERY TIME. The ability for the app to work in low cellular areas / black spots. Build the app so it is responsive to the most basic tasks - find course / add scorecard / add attester. Only focus on the core user flows working fast EVERY TIME. Notifications - I mean how have you created an app in 2025 that doesn’t have basic push notifications enabled? As a non-technical person I could user cursor to create a better app than this by myself in less than a month. TLDR - use the app yourself, dogfood it, work out the core user flows, speed up the app. Stop outsourcing this to the back end of beyond and get a small team of engineers in England to create a quality app.

What a bogey. 1★
You would think it would be simple. Here’s an app to calculate your handicap what possibly could be difficult about that. Well, initially loading the app, to your designated courses (should it be on there ) with your playing partners is going to be your first challenge. Inputting your scores without kicking you out / losing your scores / forgetting which hole you just played and having to re-input your whole of your scorecard having being asked to log yourself back in! is a gimme. You will probably be doing this several times throughout your round. The app itself is full of negative space and what you’d really like to see is either not on there! or is in such small font you wish you could magnify the image, but that would be far too helpful. Whilst it does calculate your Stableford points as you make your way around the course, (in this ridiculously small font) on the final score sheet, this doesn’t appear. How wonderfully helpful is that. My impression is this application was built on a budget, it is the only excuse there is to justify how badly designed this app is. it’s probably done the App designers, no help putting their name to this. Certainly going to be cautious with any of there other offerings.

Latest update is dreadful 1★
I’ve used the MyEG app for a number of years now with no issues whatsoever. Today (19th May 26) I received an email announcing an updated app. I downloaded it and it’s dreadful. There are error messages on various screens, the speed is slow on WiFi so what it’ll be like on the course is concerning. There also seems to be a shift in focus from you to friends in the app so they appear at the top of the home page. I then have to search to find my own scores/stats. I want the focus to be on my scores with the option of finding friends, not the other way around. The app is supposed to facilitate entering all scores when you play. As it stands I won’t even bother trying to login. This is just a distraction from golf not a way to record scores and stats as it used to be. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Good app for regular players 4★
I think the app works well - i don’t relate to the negative comments. This is a great way to see all your scores and track your HC. I always start the card before the round, either fill out a paper scorecard or use my watch then fill it in after the round has finished. Cant understand why people would do it out on the course. Also good to ser a history of your scores. And when i play in club comps the scores automatically go on there wich is handy. I can also have a look at friends scores which is handy to have. App could look a little better but overall I find it works well and have no complaints

Not enough users 3★
Seems like a great idea but your scores can only count if you play with someone who also has the app and vouches for your round. Completely agree with this, keeps the integrity within the game. However I play 1-2 times per week but not a member of a club, I play with quite a few people but most don’t have the app as they don’t want to spend £40 and not have anyone vouch for them. I think this would work far more effectively and have more uptake if the cost was £15 per year. At the current cost I can’t input my scores to have them verified.

Absolutely awful 1★
I am writing this after the latest May 2026 update which claims to fix a lot of the problems yet this app remains terrible. Slow to load, slow to create scorecards if that works at all. Presumably the influx of people trying the new app to see if it’s no longer terrible has overwhelmed the servers. Entirely predictable, entirely avoidable. Even when it settles down and things start working that won’t fix the awful UI, e.g. graph of hcp index where the data points in no way match my actual hcp index, black text on black backgrounds. And the worst part, this app is essentially mandatory to maintain a handicap AND I have paid for it through my annual subscription and yet I am being served adverts!
GB · helpful
Ok but could be so much better 3★
A good start but several things not good: 1. Login details aren’t stored so you have to enter your CDH and password each time. Who can remember their CDH number?!! Why can’t the retails be ‘remembered’ like most other apps? As a result my friends and I use the web version - don’t need the app! 2. Good to see lots of English courses, but why not Welsh and Scottish courses? We are using a WORLD handicap system so please update! 3. Nice to look at other courses and see what my playing handicap is. Would be better if I could see what others play off - when I visit another course I can put in my handicap index but I’d like to put in my playing partners indexes and see what they’re off. 4. England Golf ..... why is it banded as New Zealand Golf?!! Very poor that you haven’t changed the presentation layer. I’ve got the app on my iPhone but I’ll use the web version on my phone for the moment. Great shame.

Shouldn’t be issues in an app that you have to pay for 2★
We pay for this app so that we can get an ‘official’ handicap without paying an expensive club membership fee. Can you sort out the app so that it actually functions as expected. Yesterday for example I had to login 4 times during my round and it would also randomly forget scores on holes. It’s a good job I’m also using 18 Birdies which is a fantastic example of a quality golf app. Today I couldn’t even access the dashboard so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app… still issues. Get it sorted or you’ll be losing many customers!!

Good in principle, but needs work 3★
It’s fab to be able to have an official handicap without having to cough up subs for a club. However, I wish this app was slightly friendlier to use. If we’re paying £40-£50 a year, PLEASE remove ads from the app, I get that there are brand partners but there must be a way of showcasing this without ugly banner ads visible on every page in the app. Also, unskippable splash content on each opening of the app is absolutely mind numbing. I’ve been shown “Caddy Comps” so many times that I’m implicitly opposed to it.

Don’t get the negativity 5★
It does what you want it to do! I wasn’t expecting gps or anything it’s pretty much what it needs to be an electronic scorecard for your handicap! It’s made everything easy can’t help but think people want too much from the app, if you want GPS and scoring go use golf shot and put in your paper cards but time to move with the times in golf I feel and MYEG is doing just that. Great start to modernisation of the scoring systems

Would be an OK app, if it worked reliably! 1★
This app seems to have service scalability issues and fails to work properly on Saturdays and Sundays when I guess their servers are most busy. It's resulted in being unable to submit 2 out of 4 scorecards in recent weeks. I've had no problems with 4G/5G data, and even tried on Clubhouse Wi-Fi but the app fails to allow me to enter the completed scorecard. My mates using it have the same issue. Also, why oh why can you only complete a scorecard when you are within 3 km within the course?! I prefer to do a paper scorecard as I go round and not be reliant on my phone having charge or cell signal. Please sort this!
GB · helpful
So many issues it’s unreal 1★
Absolutely horrendous app. I am due to enter some competitions so am required to have an official handicap. The app is incredibly slow. Sometimes I do not get past the splash screen. Then, I get constant network errors, telling me I cannot connect to the servers, and cannot progress to the scorecard. On the rare occasion that there doesn’t seem to be a network error, and I can record my scores, the app just crashes, and then corrupts my scorecard, so I have to delete the card I’m using in realtime, and enter it all again. I genuinely think that this is the worst app I have ever used, and there should be an alternative method for this.
GB · helpful
A step back 3★
First there is no obvious way to give any feedback within the app. The home page is messy. It’s not me and its not my friends. The vertical scale of the graph is too compressed. Friends have gone, they are now golfers. I help run a roll up. With the previous version i could look at my friends and see their current HCI and the HCI that they used for their last round. I could then update their handicap in my spreadsheet. Now i have to click on each golfer which is a pain.

I like the new update especially the updated handicap calculator. The ability to group your friends is interesting and I find the new layout much more functional. The only downside however is that you’ve taken away the bold green highlight on the counting scores and replaced it with a very pale green and small flag making it more difficult to see. Would prefer the bold numbers or return. Other than that though, good job

Hate the new update! 2★
The front page is silly now - it’s not one thing or the other because either to see friend’s HI or see my scores I have to click to go to a new page!! How daft! Why not just leave friend’s HI on the tab at the bottom as it was it can be seen in exactly the same number of presses as it is on new update (and as it was). I want my performance and scores on the front page - isn’t that the main purpose of the app?? Being able to work out team PH is very useful and the only reason I’ve not given the update 1 star.

Reduced functionality 1★
The old version of the app was at least serviceable, but this update has made it worse. First, counting scores were far clearer in the old version. Second, you could check all handicaps for your own club, not just those of friends, which was useful when playing a ko match or organising a one-off-event with people you don’t normally play with, e.g. for verifying people had the requisite number of cards to play in an event. Now, however, it seems you have to be ‘friends’ before you can see anyone’s record, which is far less flexible. Why reduce the functionality?

It does what it needs to 3★
Let’s be honest, it’s not supposed to be a fully functional golf app, there are plenty out there to do that. It’s just a method to submit scores for you handicap and that works. Couple of suggestions though are 1) to allow you to select from your friends list at the end of your round when looking for an attester. Pain having to search for clubs and names. 2) a watch app so I don’t have to get the phone out during the round to input my score.

They’ve made an ok app worse 2★
I agree with a lot of the other comments made here about version 3. My specific gripes are as follows: - The homepage shows my friends’ scores followed by my latest three scores. I want my homepage to show my scores and only go to another page to see what my friends are doing. - The little green flag alongside my 8 counting scores of the last 20 is pathetic. Bring back the highlighting in green of the stroke scores. - The font size is ridiculously small and I can’t see a way to change it. - I don’t seem to be able to search for members of my club or any other club to check on their handicap index. I know we’re an honest bunch, but it seems to be a function that’s been taken away completely, probably for “privacy reasons“! Why do companies change things just for the sake of changing them, and who tests these apps?

Good basics but needs work 3★
App function is nice and simple to use however a few suggestions would be; 1. App should be able to function on smart watches to input scores - very basic. 2. I like that you can see your stableford scores as you are playing but when you submit your scorecard the stableford scores disappears which is very annoying 3. Seem to get logged out regularly. Remembering passwords / Face Recognition is the standard for most app logins these days.

Great app but app crashing when.. 4★
Firstly, love the app. But it seems to be crashing in Wales (when visiting family) and I cannot log / start a round of golf. Have played twice in Wales recently but the app keeps crashing when I try to start a round. Courses are / were Peterstone Lakes and St Mellons. Hopefully this can be investigated, maybe it’s not just Wales but other territories? Typically I carded the round of my life on the one course so unable to log!

App with adverts for paying members? 1★
Every club member as far as I’m aware pays £9.50 per year to be an England Golf union member, and you still think it’s appropriate to display adverts in the app. The app is now without doubt the number one way members will judge england golf. Having to pay for adverts is a poor judgement call and should be stopped immediately. Any other company you pay a service to who then advertise to you would be unacceptable. Please also keep members updated with a roadmap of app development. When will it get Face ID login? Some very basic functions missing for what could be a slick and usable app.

Does the bear minimum 3★
Firstly, it’s an ugly app. Not an issue per se but also easily fixed. It calculates my index, so that’s a plus, and also means I don’t have to worry about paper scorecards and the pro shop being closed. Other than that, it’s not great. The UX is pretty old school and clunky, and all round not good. I now start the round before teeing off and then input the scores in one go afterwards. It’s way too slow to use during the round.

Attention all idiots 5★
To all the people saying how welsh and Scottish courses are not included and how they should be, the app is for ‘England golf’, meaning only English courses will show up. Overall, app does what it is designed to do, shows you your 20 most recent rounds, which ones count towards you handicap index and which ones will drop out first. Simple and easy to use.

Works well 4★
I think the app is really handy and rarely have an issue with it. It would be nice if the user interface was updated to make it slicker and maybe you could dive a bit more into your own stats and your friends stats? I feel like with the development of tech these days it’s fairly straight forward to have an app with great UX, this just seems a bit clunky.

Good concept, bad execution 1★
I’m all for an efficient system of maintaining handicaps in a consistent fashion. Unfortunately, this app falls short. The geolocating requirement means that if you don’t post the score immediately following your round at a club not near your home, you can’t post the score. That’s dumb. You also have to make sure that one of your playing partners is also signed up for the app so they can attest your scores. Seems just a way to capture more annual subscriptions. I’m sorry I signed up and need to find out how to cancel after having had the app for 3 days.

Absolute game changer! 5★
Can’t believe the negative reviews on here. It’s fantastic. Have linked to all my golfing buds…some of whom aren’t members anywhere and we all have a proper handicap, so no sharking! Great to follow mates progress regardless of where they play in the country. Most importantly it’s reduced the admin after a round and quickly updates the handicap. Spot on.. well done to the developers!

How to make a very bad app worse 1★
I have had to change my review as version three is even worse than before. I did not believe this was possible. The helpful highlighting of your accounting scores in green has gone small green flag that you can’t really see has replaced them. The screen formatting is not fit for purpose and the finding of handicap that other courses is now task. I honestly did not think it was possible to make this app any worse but it is now much worse. Avoid at all costs.

Needs work 2★
It’s a start, but for me the most frustrating thing is that you can’t submit a score within 2 hours, and you also then can’t submit a score unless you’re in close proximity to the course? Basically means I have to either stay at the club, or input my last score just before I play my next round. Very annoying. Given you have to have a playing partner verify your score, I don’t see why either of these are necessary.

Interoperability doesn’t work for me 2★
Issues with the current app for me: 1. Unable to search and find players in other home nations that I am playing with, so can’t add them to attest a score, or attest scores for them. I was playing a round in England, with 3 Welsh registered players and was the only player that couldn’t put a card in. 2. App loses connectivity regularly during the round, which doesn’t help entering scores as you are playing as the app resets.

New England Golf App 4★
Good easy to use app. More convenient than using the website. Couple of additions required. 1. Need the app to give the choice of saving your login & password into Settings as it’s a pain having to remember your login each time. 2. Hopefully the library of courses with expand from just England to cover all around the world based on your location, as GPS watches do. Great start!

Shoddy and hard to see update 1★
The new app needs reading glasses to use - in the past there was a big font of recent scores and clear green circles for the 8 counting rounds, now the font is smaller and the green has changed. Many golfers are 50+ and easy to read is important. I have also lost the friends tab where I could search for any player from my club - now this is all hidden in a submenu. So it is a backwards step - please revert back and improve some bits by all means but please don’t ruin the rest!

Really disappointing from England Golf 1★
England Golf have announced “a refreshed MyEG experience”, but the app still feels miles away from what it should be. It is slow, buggy, and often fails to load properly. The UI feels at least 10 years out of date, the experience is clunky, and there are adverts everywhere, which makes the whole thing feel cheap rather than professional. For an organisation representing 750,000+ members, this is not something I would expect England Golf to proudly put their name on. Golfers rely on this app for scores, handicaps, and core England Golf services, so the quality should be much higher. Honestly, it feels like it was built by a team of chancers rather than experienced mobile app developers who understand modern UX, performance, reliability, and accessibility. Really disappointing. England Golf members deserve much better.

Smart watch function 4★
It’s a shame you can’t hook it up to a watch to input your scores during your round. I know it’s a modern world problem but having to continually look for my phone in my bag of many things! Really winds me up. Would just be easier if you could input scores via a watch. Otherwise there’s no issues with app.

New update not necessarily an improvement?! 2★
Having used the new app update for a few weeks, I think I preferred the previous version. Some bits have improved. However the graph is now too compressed and doesn’t really show peaks and drops. Like others have mentioned, I preferred to see my counting scores highlighted in the bold green circle, rather than the small flag, which doesn’t stand out. Can you bring back it back please?

Wrong tees 4★
This is a great app and our group uses it all the time but it has 1 major flaw. When you select your playing partners it randomly puts them off different tees and there does not seem to be a way of correcting this. This means you have to manually check and alter your stableford scores. Other than that it’s good.

Slowly getting worse 2★
Used the app for 3 years now. When I first started using it I was really impressed. Over the last year the app has got continuously worse. Constantly logging me out during rounds and a 1/2 second lag when changing hole / inputting score. These may seem like very small things but when you’re in the middle of a round and having to log back in each time it becomes a tad annoying.

Not fit for purpose 1★
First time I’ve been compelled to write a review. I have to say considering myEG is the recognised platform for an entire nation of golfers - generating some pretty hefty revenue - this app is appalling. Slow to open, crashes and closes mid round when tracking scores, never able to add fellow players and often have to rely on them adding me. Sort yourselves out myEG as you’re fleecing a community. Compare to other platforms such as hole19 which offer a far better product but aren’t ‘official’.

Recommend 4★
Some of these reviews are pathetic! Really question folks patience and lack of education sometimes.. App is exactly whats needed when playing various courses! Every course i’ve played across the country who have memberships has been on the app. (Educate yourselves, non membership courses aren’t on the app, simple). Fantastic app and will continue to use. Area of development would be yardages as GPS is enabled to locate courses. Course/Hole layouts would make it the best app around! If these were not possible, would a partnership with Garmin be an option? Input on Garmin and automatically adds to EG??? Overall 8/10 for the EG app!!

Even worse since today’s update! 1★
Bearing in mind this is The go to app for golfers it’s been poor since it’s launch! Constantly having to re-enter login details! No facility for facial or print recognition and generally very slow! So today with a notification of an update to fix bugs etc I hoped some of these app failings would be fixed! I shouldn’t have bothered! Now all I’ve got is a blank screen and: Failed loading profile!! Sadly I can’t give this useless app a minus score! Sort it out guys!!!

Excellent App 5★
Been using for sometime and its very simple to use. Like the Friends option but would also like to see an option for creating Groups within Friends to keep certain Friends seperate (eg. keep regular swindle friends seperated from other friends).

A real step forward in golfing social networking 5★
Me and my friends love this app. Firstly the interface is so straight forward, then seeing your results immediately after your round. And finally seeing your friends results and actual scores is great for a bit of banter!
