Matchday by England Football

Just spent 30 mins trying to set up a set of training dates. Have given up. It’s such a hateful experience using this app as a grassroots manager when it doesn’t need to be. A simple web interface for admin tasks would help massively. Gets one star for the match stats part being able to record goals / assists in real time. Albeit that isn’t the greatest experience ever. Forced to use the app to play in our youth league, so have little alternative option sadly.

App has started to remove my weekly training sessions before the session has taken place so I can’t see how many players are expected to attend. Please fix this.

Doesn’t always work, seems to glitch a lot and lose data that’s been input previous. Need to check several times after inputting data to make sure it’s submitted properly. Should be much easy to navigate

The app is good for updating fixtures and timings rather than using a 3rd party app and having to transfer all the information. My issues are with the statistics after the match. When I reply to the generic text message from the FA at full time this score is updated on the Matchday app, then when you add your player statistics and add goal scorers these goals get added to the full time result 😔

How the hell do I sign in but don’t have a account no option to make a new one

Great for looking at fixture information but that’s it. It would be great if you could sync to a calendar.

When filling in match report, despite a registered referee being assigned to the game and appearing, the final screen won’t allow you to progress unless you tick “unassigned official” and fill in.

If it could have access to opposition players so you can name opps man of the match and be able to name captain would be 5 star

Would be useful to have the following features:- a) “add fixture to calendar” that saves to my iOS calendar. That way it’d integrate with all the navigation apps which already have access to the calendar. B) have a site map of the fixture venue, we attend lots of venues with 6 or more pitches. Having this would help a lot. C) access to the league table WITHOUT having to browse to Fulltime website. D) see the live results and f other games in my league. E) access to my FanID

Very poor app. Full of glitches that make the role of a volunteer manager/coach ten times harder. Well done FA

Useful for keeping track of kids’ fixtures. But if you switch profiles the results table gets stuck on the previous profile. Have to fully close app to switch to other league table. App store support link goes to 404 page not found. Link needs updating.

No fixtures or results showing. Says team needs to be added to active league/season but still sends match notifications

Crashes a lot, we add fixtures and parents can’t interact with them. We add training items and each item overlaps the other so parents can’t confirm availability or see the time which means lots of watsapp messages. We used it for a few years as a coach of my son’s team. We moved to using spond and it’s way better but now my daughters team use this app and my goodness it is awful. How can something so simple such as lists on the screen break so often?

What’s happened to this app, all teams now have the same badge (England badge) . Can’t see league results.

Opens and then it just whirls round and round and you can’t tap on anything. Desperately need to get on to sort fixtures out

First match today for my clubs, went to submit our squad and results and doesn’t work, just crashed and app seems stuck

I can’t believe a professional organisation like the FA has released something so amateurish. The views on iOS just don’t work - you can’t see the fixtures properly, things overlap, with every update comes more issues and no progress… Really needs sorting out asap as it makes the life of a football parent much harder, not easier!

Great when it works, frequently has issues with not connecting fixtures from full time, showing none available but still sending notifications for them. With no fixtures available it becomes a pointless app.

Not very user friendly, slow and clunky

I’ve only got two teams and the app shows the wrong fixtures when I switch teams. There are no location or team colour details so can’t even tell where the games are taking place

Since the update, when I change between my 2 teams the fixtures don’t change. Eg, U9 fixtures show in U12 team

I’m involved in running 2 teams. When I move between the profiles of the 2 teams all the wrong teams fixtures get displayed. Loads of problems at the start of last season which slowly got resolved, but now a whole load of new problems seem to have been released for the new season. How many hours have I wasted trying to get info out of or into this awful app? Do they do any testing before releasing updates?

Since the update every time I switch between my daughters accounts the fixtures don’t change unless I close the app and re open it. It’s a pain when you want to quickly check

App is good but 2 things I would urge the developers to look at. 1) You can see availability for each friendly and each training session without having to click into the instance, but for league matches you can’t. You only see the availability bar for the next match. This means that you have to click into the fixture- which isn’t intuitive and also you can’t easily see whether you have set your availability or not. 2) When scrolling through the list of fixtures or training sessions, the date at the top of each instance sometimes scrolls up so you can’t see it and there doesn’t seem to be any way to scroll each instance so the date is hidden.

My husband runs a grassroots football team and I’m signed up to the Matchday app as a parent for our son. When he updates the app with new training sessions or change the location of training sessions. I don’t receive any notifications or emails. All my notifications are turned on. Is this a know issue or does what I’m asking to happen just not exist?

Cannot login fully - get a flicker of the home screen post login and then it kicks you back out to the login screen. Buggy

App takes me to log in screen and kicks me out every time I try to log in.

As per title , app logs you out automatically the second you log in. iOS is up to date 18.6. As I can’t contact developers I have to leave review unfortunately.

needs better beta testing

Since the app underwent an update recently I am unable to log in without it immediately crashing. The support page via the App store takes me to a non-existent page so there is no way of reporting this issue except for writing on here. Hopefully a further update will fix the issue. Will one be coming soon? (iOS 18.6 iPhone 14 user).

Having just reinstalled the app it continually crashes when I log in and kicks me out. Surely this is basic stuff please sort it out

I use the app daily, it keeps kicking me out! Common fault!? Can we get it sorted asap!!

New update crashes upon opening. Tried it on a few phones , same on all of them

I’ve tried logging in, but it immediately kicks me out again. I’ve reinstalled the app, changed my password, made sure I’m “Matchday ready” but still nothing. When I tried to report a fault, I’m directed to a webpage that doesn’t exist. I’m going round in circles, and leaving this review is the only thing left I can think to do.

Can’t login after latest update

Normally pretty good but the latest release has locked me out not allowing my to switch between roles. Just crashed each time. Also - hope you get to fix the issue of rearranged games not resetting availability.

Went to change from coach to parent profile and it asked me to re-log in. Doesn’t prompt for a login, flashes the profile screen and returns to the login screen.

The app keeps glitching and returning to the log in page.

Can’t set up an account and can’t get into it. All I can see is an unhelpful video about adding people. Waste of time.

At the very least - please can you fix the squad page (as manager and parent) - when you click in and scroll, it just gets stuck and you cannot scroll up and down the player list anymore making the most useful page - useless!

A lot of people complain about this app but I’ve never really had a problem with it on IOS. It’s easy enough to enter all the info you are required to record for the FA from matchdays. Beyond that, not worth it but it does what it needs to.

As a club, we have moved from Teamstuff to Matchday. The only positive is that there is a direct link between FAN number and player. The negatives, the views look clumsy, if you and your child coach and play in the same team, the icon stays the same but just with an icon on the shirt - this should be a separate icon altogether. You need to navigate through several buttons to find information on teams, matches and the whole flow to the app just seems confusing compared to Teamstuff. There is no calendar function unlike Teamstuff. If you are not a coach for a team and your child plays, you can’t see who is available to play unlike in Teamstuff. The fonts and colours used in the app are bland to navigate around and confusing. Really hate this app that we now have to use! Still no improvement. Hardly ever loads properly on iPhone. When the squad is announced, and if you aren’t playing it still stays ‘Squad to be announced’ so it needs to be confirmed separately on whatsapp or something. The architecture of this app is truely poor, massive failure….to the app developers don’t put this on your cv as this is a fail and nothing to be proud of.

I have an issue with this app - I cannot access it because it states I have multiple accounts linked to my email address - I understand this is a frequent issue. Contacting the ‘grassroots support’ results in a standard trouble shooting email advising to access using my FAN number on the ‘whole game website’ the issue is when I do that my FA Website password doesn’t match either mine or my sons FAN numbers and if I try to Password reset it also tells me I have multiple accounts linked to my email. There is no phone number for the ‘The Grassroots Technology team’ so I’m just going around in circles sending them emails and getting the same standard ‘trouble shooting’ response - this is extremely frustrating and means my 11year old son is likely to miss out on football matches because I can’t confirm his availability for any matches! It would be good to be able to speak to someone who can take ownership of this issue and actually resolve it for me - so that I don’t waste another week going around in circles.

Downloaded this as I manage an u7’s team. Initial view is it’s very ‘clean’ (no ads) and easy to use in comparison to other free apps in the market. The link into Whole Game System to pre-populate players is great. Also the ability to automatically show fixtures from full time, as well as updating them is great also. Couple of areas that I’d like to see in the product development. 1. Multiple parent users as kids might be split between homes etc. 2. Ideally want to be able to see the results of the kids games for everyone, rather than just X-X (I knows it FA policy not to display but really does not help!) 3. Enhanced player profile stats that can show goals, match ratings and the ability for managers to add notes to their players 4. An actual in app chat feature for general conversation 5. The ability to add photos and videos from games 6. Some form of analysis on the team you are facing - like a WWLDW type of insight. 7. From a manager perspective the ability to see key stats about your teams performance (goal ratio, top scorers 8. A recommendation from your opponent to award a man of the match 9. Ability to share results to social media

Up until last Saturday, I had no issues using the app, I loved it. But for no apparent reason I now seem unable to choose my starting players or add any entries beyond this point including all in play features and end of game FA required feedback. Hoping it was just last week that was the issue I’ve gone to pick the squad again this morning and as luck would have it….exactly the same issue! My issue and frustration comes from, if I had no home computer how do you expect me to action this in a reasonable time scale. Most apps get updated regularly I think in the year I've been using the app myself I’ve never once seen an updat? Can someone kindly look into why this is occurring or I’ll need to find an alternative route. The app is clearly not fit for purpose - Thank you

So frustrating trying to get all parents access to the app with children linked. I, like so many others, am just a volunteer trying to support coaching kids football giving up my spare family time to do so. This is meant to help but is so poor that it becomes useless and more hassle than it’s worth. I’ve spent hour after hour trying to work out why a several of the parents can’t link a child or verify an email address or can’t get access as they have two FAN numbers and whole game system is so poor now that there is a queue system in place just to get access. 😡😡😡😡🤯🤯🤯 Shame on you FA - grassroots is the building block for the entire game and generates the next sets of players/fans in the future so please focus on spending more time and money on making these systems deliver what they should for grass roots to help the army of volunteers which you so heavily rely on.

I’m far from impressed.. Initially I had an issue getting access to the App as a manager. I contacted the help email months ago - to this day I haven’t had a response.. (Although I have now figured it out myself!) I’m a player/manager and it doesn’t appear to let me both manager the squad but also list myself as available. This is a huge drawback for me... I have emailed the help address again, fingers crossed I’ll get a response this time..... Half my team can’t log in. I’ve checked and their emails are correct to those listed on WGS, so I’m at a loss as to what to suggest to these players.. This is just becoming more hassle than it’s worth... Finally, it doesn’t appear to push notifications to peoples phones. I arranged a friendly using the App- I then had to Whatsapp the players (those that are able to access the App) to point out that they needed to go into the App to log their availability! Surely the App should notify players when a new fixture is added and prompt them to confirm availability either way for upcoming games?? Oh, and I can’t mark myself available for the friendly I’ve set up, as previously mentioned.. Unless things dramatically improve and I get some speedy assistance it will be Whatsapp for us again during the 19/20 season!

Hi , The app continues to improve but we are finding it very limited to schedule games as the away team time and location more often then not is incorrect , it need to have the ability for managers to over ride this as many of our away games are not updated by the opposing team , this make it useless to be reliable to be used by parents , for this to be embrace by more club this needs to be overcome . Why can’t I see and change the availability for all games from the fixture list…it only shows your availability for the very next game so you have to select each fixture individually to even see what you set. Very frustrating and time consuming when you have 4 kids registered, I have to change accounts and then select each individual game to do this our coaches need us to work more than 1 week ahead so I need you to allow me to do the same please easily and also be able to see what availability I have already set just from viewing the fixture list. Where is the option to sync the fixture list with my calendar? Where is the feedback/feature request option in app? I can’t find one so have had to post it here.

Love the idea of the app but it’s just not working very well. I use the app as it updates the full time website, I want to be able to use it to track our season stats. The app will only let me add game events for the last fixture played, I want to add the goal scorers and substitutions for our previous games now I have the app but I can’t? The app has let me enter the starting eleven for the previous fixtures but why not goal scores and substitutions?? It’s a great app but not being able to add goal scorers and substitutions means I may as well not bother, I want to use the app to keep stats on our games, I may as well go back to using my excel spreadsheet!! A fully functional app will get a 5 star rating! But I can’t give that until this problem is fixed! *** just a quick update, I have updated my review to 5 stars as the support surrounding the issue has been superb, James from the app team couldn’t of been more helpful, the app is now working great and a massive time saver on match days!! ****

I love this app, as both a manager and a player, it makes it so easy to confirm my availability but then do everything for the team I manage. Being able to record stats as they happen save so much time! The only feedback I have to improve is to have an option to sync the match details with my calendar. Another issue is when I submit my match stats such as referee marks, pitch marks, behaviour, etc. it does not save to the FA admin. So I still have to log on to my FA account. Also, having the option to select my team captain would also be great as I cannot do it on the FA website once I have submitted my stats via the Matchday app!!

Just started using the app from a regular coach point of view in mini soccer, and really looking forward to it replacing some of the time consuming manual actions we needed to do on a weekly basis on one location. From an app developer / design suggestion point of view, on the Fixtures menu selection, it would be great to start with an ‘All’ filter screen, so it shows up all scheduled fixtures / friendlies / socials etc sequentially for quick reference, rather than always having to select each one individually. Thanks again - app has come a long way!

Not worth downloading. So many bugs, firstly wouldn’t let me link to the team. Said I had conflicting FAN so I followed the steps and watched the tutorials, still didn’t work. I then contacted the relevant person/people...was emailed back several days later saying the accounts had been linked and should now work...nope. So I contacted them again...no response until over a week later and it said they had closed my enquiry 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 brilliant stuff. That’s not the end of it, now when I’ve tried to reset it all and log in...the app just closes after I’ve entered my password and email. In this time I’ve managed to train a courier pigeon which is by far quicker and more useful, don’t get me wrong it occasionally soils my car window but that’s way less stressful than attempting to use this app. Cheers

This app promises to be very useful to club managers however it is causing issues and in my professional opinion was launched hastily The issues I note are I cannot see to manage multiple teams which is essential as a grassroots club official. I have cannot get my daughter linked myself and her club are trying to work it out. This is down to the last minute changes in roles and permissions around GDPR I believe and has meant our secretary has spent hours reading configuring roles. Clubs in our league have had issues also so most will not yet be using the app yet I cannot configure what information I want to allow or not allow managers to update. Our fixtures Secretary sets kick off times and pitches so does not want managers to change these around The pre launch info was not very obvious and this means awareness in the clubs here is low. The concept however is good and will save us having to continue with teamer and managing club and personal data in a different system. However managed will be reluctant to change until these glitches are sorted

We attended the Matchday/PayPal meeting and was interested in what we heard. We have downloaded the App and set up the PayPal payment for one of our players and they received an email to advice them the payment was due and the player said it was easy to pay through his PayPal account. The Matchday App itself is very useful and today when one of my Fixtures was swapped I got a notification from the Matchday App. We have already recommended the App to another manager to assist them and when they downloaded it they were also impressed.

As a parent, this app is pretty good and provides loads of info. The one thing that seems to be missing though is for me to be able to subscribe to a fixture list in my calendar. You can say you kids are available for a lot of matches/training/friendlies in advance, but it’s pretty easy to forget kick off times etc and double book yourself. Being able to add the games either en bloc, as a subscribed calendar, or individually as an event would be much needed functionality.

For me as a coach to set up games and record live stats fantastic, could not be better. Brilliantly linked with full time to save time editing stats. If this was mirrored across the app then what a app it would be. The bad stuff, none of my players parents (U13’s) can sign in or link to the app. The players are registered on the whole game system and their parents are linked to them via email, but no matter how we have tried they can’t sign in. This means apart from me the app is useless. It could be amazing. I could send my parents match up dates when they aren’t there, the parents can be notified for games training and socials. It really isn’t anywhere near it should be

I’m a grassroots coach using the FA Matchday iOS app, and I’ve noticed that when I try to schedule a friendly fixture or training dated after 1st June 2025, the app won’t let me set the date—it just rolls back to the 1st June if you try put a future date. This effectively makes the app unusable for any planning beyond that point. I believe it might be a restriction based on the current season’s calendar, but for friendly matches, I’d expect the flexibility to schedule into the summer, especially as we try to arrange off-season or pre-season games. Please can this be fixed ASAP?

Great idea, great app, great support and great development.. From a coaches perspective this app is excellent. Admittedly there was some frustration initially when some parents couldn’t log-in properly due to them having more then one FAN number, but the friendly support team were on hand to quickly help resolve any issues. Now that the parents and coaches are all using the app, I now know in advance of who is and isn’t available to play in the game, which is a big benefit to me when I’m plan and preparing for matchday. This app has cut down on my admin, no more sitting in front of my pc sending emails to parents and filling out match reports, it’s all done via my phone, and in a matter of minutes. I’m already looking forward to some of the enhancements which make using this app even enjoyable Huge thumbs up from me 👍🏻

Please don’t keep the header on every page it uses valuable screen area and if text is made larger in ‘iPhone/settings/display/text size’ then the screen jumps and makes it impossible to select menu items. Just have a basic scroll and stop trying to be fancy. We need reliability, ease of use, obvious navigation and simple account login. I can’t tell which account I’m in i.e. player , parent or manager from the logo at the top of the screen. Just put some text there! Use colour better or how about following Apple’s design guide? It’s there to stop ‘clever’ app designers getting carried away. Keep it simple

The app is good as all matches are uploaded automatically but buggy with some players who have confirmed on there app not showing as available on mine still and back buttons not working properly. Ability to update the kick off time would be useful as this is our primary method of communicating to our teams parents so if this changes, have to get FA admin to update but not always possible.

As my clubs Secretary I thought this would be the ideal in the pocket app for last minute info, changes, etc. Far from it, even when I chose my Secretary account it doesn’t let you do any secretarial actions like signing players on, etc. So I have now deleted it, so frustrating, especially as when you log in to the WGS on a phone, the web browser does not let you compete action either, tried to register a player a s when you go to the registration tab the browser does not let you scroll to the Cosent, verify tabs. So annoying!

I genuinely think this app is marvellous. It allows you to set up squads and record data during the match - goals, assists etc. at the end of the game you just save them, alongside the relevant ratings, and it goes straight on the FA website - along with goal scorers, etc (if you’re a competitive league!). We’re now using this app exclusively for our team organisation, and are very happy with it!

We’ve been using this app for 3 seasons now, first season had lots of teething problems, they were sorted for last season and so far this year it’s running fairy smoothly Love the link up with PayPal and the weekly recording of who has or more importantly who hasn’t paid their match fees. No more chasing people or losing out on money when they want to transfer clubs Wish there was a way that the FA & Cognizant could also include the ability to pay yellow and red cards on the app as that would then make us a cashless club and better record keeping,especially in these current challenging Covid times, just a friendly suggestion for you 😉 Only issue we have stumbled across this year is when recording a Penalty being scored it doesn’t sync properly with the Whole Game System and give that player his goal on there.

Really struggling tbh, first week couldn’t send the match report, second and third weeks I thought went okay and now I am being chased for my reports via our league for week 1 and 2 ?? Also one of my squads players not on my squad listing even though registered and played for us last season as well as this. Then I can’t log in on the website to do match reports online?? I wa so pleased to have an app and I can’t seem to work it right and now I have stopped getting ref details emails and the matches themselves via email with contact info on them.. did for first 3 games nothing. For this weekend??

Please, please, please consider a way of being able to export the fixtures to a calendar. Having two children play at different age groups means switching users just to view fixtures. Being able to export to my calendar will enable me to see where both are playing and at what time just by glancing at the date on a calendar. I can’t even copy and paste the data as it only copies the hyperlink data. I’ll not even charge you commission for this brilliant idea.

Used to be a good app, ability to set teams, request availability etc - this is probably the only bit that still works, although many have issues logging in. In game element was good, used to be able to register goals, assists, substitutions & have an accurate tally / record with absent parents able to follow the game remotely cos the app. Now the timer freezes, updates to in play activity as listed doesn’t register & constantly kicks you out. Have given up using the app & resorted to using full time admin to register very basic details. Sort this out FA, just not good enough

The app looks really good and will hopefully save time in the future but unfortunately this app is still full of bugs. If you have multiple logins, like myself, then the information lags when switching from one team to the other with scheduled games disappearing then coming back on after a few clicks through the menus. Some parents have issues with venue directions on their phone directing them to Rome? Plus some parents are struggling to set their child’s availability for Matchday? Using the commentary part of the app is very laggy and hit and miss with the live game time not showing and game going to half time early? It’s also not easy setting up the game due to lag, even on 100mbps WiFi? There is no way to confirm the match with opponents or with the referee? I assume that you are having issues with the app demand and hope you improving servers?

The issue I found is the parent log in as a few have come back saying they user name and password they set up is wrong Also the ones who have managed are not get informed either by email or by text message Also one of our parent is a club committee memeber and it did not allow her to set it up of the fan number she has had for year so now it’s given her a new fan number the worry I have now it will confuse the whole game system as she like I said is a official officer of our club

I tried to get my team to use this app last season but initially had issues getting players logged in. Once that was resolved the app was quite slow and clunky. However, I’ve since found recent improvements to the app have surprisingly made it fairly user friendly and I’m starting to see some of the benefits it promises to deliver. The addition of season fees has been great, but I would love to see FA cautions, sin bin charges etc etc linked to the players account so that they can pay them directly. (If only) 🚬 Overall summary, stick with it and learn your way around the system and the benefits will shine through. Good work Guys, your continuous improvement is making a big difference 😀

As a manager it’s great. But the one issue I have is when we play an away fixture, the location and kick off time often changes yet the away team coach can’t change this within the app for the parents to see the change. This makes it pointless have location on there as fixtures often change time and location. Please make the location and kick off time editable when playing home and away please.

This app seems to be on the right track of being ok and I get the idea of it but just lacks communication. We still revert back to using our what's app group as when the manager of our teams writes notes for a change in time of kick off we do not get notified that's notes have been written. Had people miss the game and miss communication because of the app. Just needs to be improved in some areas to help it run a lot smoother. Hope this helps improve to make this app better!!! Thanks

This App could be great but the biggest problem is workflow and task management, it’s so unnecessarily complex in parts; especially player management which is frustrating and could easily be improved with better task management. E.g. Does it really make sense for “lineup” to sit under Matchday when you have an entire separate for squad management. There is loads of stuff like this that could easily be sorted to make the App far more intuitive. As I said, nearly…

This does consolidate a lot of info into one place and does a good job. I have a query about notifications. When I send an update parents are notified but as a manger I’m notified when they update availability? I have notifications on and if I switch to parent I get them from myself as manager. Can you advise as this is the main feature I would want as a manger (notifications of availability) Thanks.

Great app, easy to use and excellent that fixtures are auto updated 🙌🏼 Would be good to be able to request training availability (as I’m sure every team has that parent/s that need reminding). I as manager receive a reminder Friday mornings to select my squad yet the auto availability reminder doesn’t get sent until 1am Saturday! Be great if the auto reminder was set to 2 days before ko.

I’ve been using this app for two seasons for an U12 team I manage, and I find it hard to believe that an organisation as big as the FA can produce something as bad as this. It frequently glitches or is down, it’s not optimised for use on my iPhone, and there are help sections which haven’t even been completed (containing ‘lorum ipsum etc’ text). I’ve been fined before for not completing setup before a game, when I had done everything the app required. I sent a help request on this. Two weeks in and no reply other than an automated ticket number. Shockingly awful!

Have tried to experiment with the app for this season to see how it fairs with view to introduce it over course of this season ready for next. This morning I tried to follow the match via the commentary / match stats tab but after several substitutions were made it came up with a error message. Seems it can’t recognise which players have been subbed & which are on the pitch. Hopefully it gets rectified. Other than that it’s not bad but does need improving. *Team Badges not showing * Same functionality for organised friendlies as well as FA Matchdays. *Introduce maps to pin point locations for away days. *More integration with other apps like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp etc. Cheers 👍🏻

This app is so much easier to use then having to log in after the game on a computer. Works really well for live match updates so you don’t have to remember who scored etc, but only if you have a good signal!! Two things need working on. Really need to be able to sync fixtures, training etc to your calendar and as a manager I don’t seem to be able to confirm my own sons attendance at a match or event???

After messing about with several Team Apps we will be using this next season for all team arrangements. A couple of things missing that would be useful are County Cup games being included in player statistics and a team sheet/formation screen where you could add players in the formation you’ll be using. Currently using a different app for this and it’s so useful.

Hi Guys, I like the app it’s clever and very useful however there is one MASSIVE issue, you CANNOT sub goalscorers? But also when the stats upload onto the FA Full-time system players who scored and are in the squad DO NOT get a appearance added to their stats. For example I have one player who has scored 6 goals over 6 games but because in 2 of the games he never scored his stats read 6 goals in 2 games. Strange, hope it gets sorted, other than that great app.

I am a parent of an U12 player. This app is great in the whole but could do with a few additions. We have switched from using another app the past few years, and it had the facility for parents to chat about matches within the app, which was good. Also the ability to add photos and links as necessary. Aside from that it’s a pretty good app with all the info necessary in one place.

The app should be the easiest to set up, easiest to use and a must have for any team/player/coach. My parents have found it so difficult to use because they cannot log in, the notifications of upcoming matches are out of date (informing me that games are coming up days after we have already played the match), and I have decided to stick with Teamer as at least it works! I want to use Matchday for next season but it has a long way to go to be ready for use. This should have been simplified and put to the test before it was launched. Hence my score of 1 out of five.

I am a coach of one team, my son plays for that team and also a separate team. I cannot work out how to respond on his behalf for two teams, can’t seem to attach ourselves to multiple teams. For this to work it really needs to be a one stop shop, with the multiple team flexibility, and include a chat facility, a place for documents / images / links, to enable solid communication with parents. Promising first iteration but needs a lot of work. Can’t see us using it anytime soon though, sadly. We’ll stick with Heja and OKS for now.

Way too many notifications! Have at least 12 an hour with the same games and same notification. Turned them off so now if I miss anything the app is useless. Also cannot change your home game kick off time which can confuse some parents! Also if you reversed fixture you don’t have an option to change it. Only got two stars and not one because the availability for training and games from parents is a good part.

I have not been a Fan of this app since it was launched, too many glitches and problems. So into season two, but it now seems even worse. Now being bombarded by messages from all the clubs teams, and then this week discovered if you score more than 9 you can’t record the full time score. 12 nil at half time, fine but setting the full time score guess what after 9, comes not 10 but 1 !!! Then you get the mad error message with the oops hit the post pun. Guessing because full time score is less than half time . Grrrrr Personally I would be happier if the message said we have given ourselves a Red card for being rubbish and will disappear away from football to enjoy a long ban. If it wasn’t for the fact that our league mandates we use it to report results I would remove this app instantly.

My first impressions were good as interface appears clean and well laid out. However since then it’s atrocious. Whilst it populated the games with locations those locations are incorrect. So… I attempt to manually change the locations and have now given up, it crashes every single time you try and edit and after a dozen go’s I won’t be trying again. This app has such potential to make our jobs as grassroots coaches easier and bring it all together on one platform but it just doesn’t work.

Good app but for some reason can’t scroll down to the bottom when selecting goalscorers or man of match if you have squad of 18, leaves at least 3 people you can’t select due to no scroll option. So pointless to use for live updating from that perspective, but very easier to set everything up for matches.

All my friendlies, training sessions and socials have been wiped with the update for the next season!!! This app is a complete waste of time. Typical FA, only caring about how this serves their own admin agenda and NOT how it supports grassroots coaches. You could literally just copy one of the many team apps out there and add the automated fixtures and score capture mechanisms. A basic view of all fixtures (not just league matches) for example would be an obvious feature we all need.

This in principle should be a good app...but; 1. App is too slow in opening and when trying to set up the squad, keeps returning the annoying ‘oops hit the crossbar, please try again...’, which is infuriating for a supposedly time saving app! I have to keep returning back to the app in the chance that the poxy thing is working again!! 2. There isn’t an option to link the fixtures and training to your calendars. I use the Teamer App last 3 seasons and that was excellent, but we’ve been driven down the Matchday App route by the league for match reports etc!
