This is an amazing app I use the coat 4 times a week! But I feel like it’s missing some features other workouts with body weight!?! Or maybe it’s just me? The coach is good but maybe adding more weeks like 8-12 weeks plan and maybe each week changes the workout for the same area so for example for chest there is no dips? Instead of pushups… just something to think about. But apart from that I use this app I have used all the others but I came back to this clean simple effective.

Pricing is fair and the routine is great. I’ve ditched my gym membership and I now workout in the park. I pay the £3.99 for a tailored program and it works excellent. The pricing is reasonable please don’t change that. Please- I would like to see a time on the warm ups and cools downs so I don’t need to count in my head.

For me this is the best calisthenics app about. I’ve done allot of research in finding the the best app/programme to work with and I’m really happy with Thenics. Some of the other programmes combine body weight training with weight training and I believe that’s just feeding the male ego. I was looking for one that is purely body weight exercise based on the fact that if you know about callisthenics and you want to get good at it then you need to be dedicated to it and train for it all if the time. If every other day I’m bench pressing and things like that my muscle up/planche/hand stand etc progression is going to be sooooo sloooooow I’m inevitably going to give up. It takes long enough as it is!! After lots of research and practice I realised if you want to become good and achieve a muscle up/planche/hand stand etc then that’s what I should be training and the mechanics of those disciplines. Spending my time bench pressing and weight lifting isn’t going to help it’s going to delay it. Well that’s what works for me. This app does all of this: it’s purely body weight training and the thing I really like about it is they mix it as training for the individual skills or you can train it as a work out. Just calisthenics. I’ve been strict with it so so far and am sticking to it 4 times a week and I’m already seeing mad progress: 20 plus dips easy! 10 plus strict over hand pull ups after 4 weeks. All this in a constructive challenging work out too. Love it! My one complaint: Dear editor, When I’m training and I’m listening to music at the same time, after the rest period I click on the tick to do the exercise again it cuts the music off. Maybe you have done this on purpose so I can concentrate on the exercise but I find this really annoying! Could you put in a choice of music on or off in the settings maybe?

It’s a great app but it would be nice that it keeps your phone open all the time. It sometimes lets my phone close. Another thing that could be better is that there is a sound like a ding or a bell that plays when the timer for resting goes off. It would also be nice that if you didn’t go out of the app it wouldn’t make the video for how to do the exercise just go to a picture. Other than that it’s all good!

Really good app so far. First I would like to say i would love a note function per exercise or per workout phase. I am currently doing the pistol and muscle up progression on an A/B split. It provides a good stimulus and helping develop strength for skills. I would also like an opportunity to moved the exercise order. I find sometimes i can superset some exercises with minimal performance drop and an increase in time efficiency. Overall i expect to complete as much of this as I can to unlock skills :)

My Favorite Calisthenics App 5★
I had yearly subscription of Thenx for couple of years and I tried multiple other popular calisthenics app but this one is my favorite. I love the coach system for premium version. Based on how well I can do the workout, it gives live feedback to change to easier or harder progression, and I think it's very reasonable.

Very useful for progressing skills you want to learn daily. Had to knock a star off for some minor bugs. Namely, when finishing a workout, the coaching screen prompts without the ability to dismiss and go back to Home Screen. Have to quit the whole app, but it still saves your progress.

I love this app but it is missing one crucial component; CUSTOMIZATION. Here’s what the app is lacking: 1) customization of all existing workouts (exercises, reps, sets, rest timer, etc.) 2) create custom workouts If those features are added, this would literally the best app. I’ve been looking for an app like this for such a long time and this one is almost perfect. It’s great, don’t get me wrong. It’s just missing those important features.

I like the variety of workouts and skills progressions! The paid version is nice too and gives you access to some other cool stuff. I think the coach feature could be improved though as sometimes it tries to write unrealistic workouts and will have you doing weighted pull ups after having done 3 sets each of pull ups and chin ups for decent reps, meaning your back is pretty wiped already. The edit feature for the workouts is buggy as well, things get out of place if you try to change something. My ideal feature would be totally customizable workouts from the exercise selections.

The pro subscription is super helpful and also pretty reasonably priced! One request I’d like is to have pause button for the timer or workout. I have subscribed for 6 months maybe and it was a wonderful experience, I learned the basics and few skills. There are 2 things i wish to have in this app. 1.Is to have a separate streching section to exercise at rest days and to increase mobility since calisthenics needs flexibility also. 2. I’ve been looking for a simple way to track my strength and skills progression, and this app is it! The workouts are structured in a very balanced way to ensure progression and lower risk of overuse or injury. Once I’ve mastered one level, I know I’m ready to move on to the next, and revisit previous levels to keep my baseline foundational skills. This app has amazing potential but I do notice that once you go past 50% of one type of workout, there is still not enough progression exercises to bridge the gap to the next set of workouts. For instance, the difference between a frog stand and a tuck planche is huge especially for beginners, so I had to look up other progression exercises to bridge that gap, and I wish those were included in this app. One other bug I did notice though was that music sometimes can’t play at the same time as this app. Other than that this app is so good and I always use it because it has been such a big help in my workouts. Would definitely recommend to my other friends who are want to get into calisthenics.

I felt really lucky when I downloaded this app because it was exactly what I was looking for and for free but I did get a paid subscription to unlock mostly luxury features because I like to have a plan laid out. I did tap through a test workout quickly to see what it was like and now I’m not sure I can delete that workout, which will really tug at the “correct record keeping” stickler in me, would love to learn how or have that feature added!

An amazing and simple app for injury free progressions 5★
This is a great app. I think the progressions are structured in a way to prioritize form and technique, which must be mastered prior to progressing. This reduces risk of injury. I have been using the app for several weeks and have seen noticeable improvements in my strength and flexibility. I am a rock climber and am using thenics workouts to improve my core strength for steep climbing. Love the “Workouts” for when I get stuck with slow progress on “Skills”- a great way to keep variation and continue progressing. My coworkers and I have been all using the app and each have different goals, which shows it is great for many purposes/skill levels. Please support thenics and buy a premium subscription if you can, to allow them to focus on designing a simple, ad free experience for all!
