I love the way this app is formatted the theme is so cool and overall is great at geting me the info I need for my sport

Will not let you edit email or phone number once you put it in, I fat fingered my number and didn’t notice till after I saved. It made my son the contact for my daughter…. Won’t let me add myself….

I’ve been using this app for 2-3 years. Just when you think notification issues are resolved, a new version is released to introduce something new! Version 45 was just released and will not clear notifications when you read a new chat message. So annoying! This app is amateur hour!

I like how easy crossbar is to use from my phone. Also easy to communicate to families. I wish we could change/format website more. It’s very limited. Along with a way to add a full season of practices for a team so that when we need to cancel just one we can. Instead of having to upload a spreadsheet.

Good app. I wish the mobile app mirrored the desktop features such as Team contacts, Staff, Roster edits feature not available on mobile app.

The Crossbar team has tried to be helpful, but we can’t get the app to give me notifications. I followed all their steps on the website to try to address the issue and have been in communication with tech support, but they have been unable to resolve the issue for months. I appreciate their continued efforts, even though we haven’t yet figured out the issue.

It is user friendly, but seems to be delayed. I’ll get notification there is a message, then go to look and no message. I then have to refresh a few times and sometimes come back later - to see the message finally came through. Also there are times coaches send messages and they don’t come through at all.

I wish I can edit text in the chat after sending it through. I sometimes realize after I made an error.

Have fun playing the games you love you certainly can do it until you say to yourself no more

Of all the apps we have used for youth sports, this one is by far the easiest, cleanest interface, and user friendly!

Open the app and it just says crossbar. Phone fully updated, app is glitching out.

I’d give this app negative stars if I could. Endless issues with schedules, access, and availability. Full schedule loaded disappears constantly. When you have notifications set up, they don’t notify you. Just garbage. Go the old fashioned route and print your schedules.

Option to click on rink location and being redirected straight to map for directions would be helpful.

I wish it showed birth year for the kids

I used to get chat notifications and schedule change notifications. Now I don’t get anything and it’s awful for keeping up to date with things.

App is good for scheduling etc. However, anyone I talk to has issues with the chat notifications. The chat area is a great place to communicate, but notifications do not come through consistently. We do not get badge alerts or notifications on the dashboard of the phone. No matter how many settings I change on the app, on the desktop version or in the phone settings. Also, it doesn’t matter how many times I delete the app and redownload.

Really like the ability to enter practices and games, define which team players can view and collect their attendance. Only reason took off a star was gets more challenging when you have multiple teams to manage.

The app isn’t great! But, no matter i do I can’t get the notifications to work.

App worked perfectly, however since latest update, I stopped getting any notifications of chat, schedule changes, etc. I have to manually go into app several times a days to see if there is anything I missed. It was not a problem before.

I’ve tried logging in and out, deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times and updating preferences and I still get don’t receive notifications. Crossbar support was ZERO help.

Solid app for running a hockey team.

I would like to see chat alerts on my phone immediately, and non come . Have to open the app. E -mail alerts are not efficient as text alerts

App been frozen for days, won’t let me do anything, I just wanted off my phone. Why won’t Apple let you delete apps???

Crossbar has been working great for us. It makes communicating and staying informed as a team an easy task. One thing on mine is that sometimes it doesn’t inform me of new notifications unless I reload it once or twice, but otherwise, I have no complaints and have really enjoyed crossbar for our hockey team.

The developer released a broken update. The views in the drop downs have different sized fonts and don’t scroll or open all the way, so you can’t see all of your team details. This is known issue and they are unwilling to fix it quickly. Instead they’re saying wait for the next update. Apparently they aren’t worried about their reputation or they would roll the updates back and fix the issue now.

Even though I have notifications on I do not always get them and our team tells us the same thing. I also think it would be nice for coaches to add games in the app and us to pin certain communication that are important for the team.

The best part about Crossbar is that you can easily add everything to the family calendar. When you RSVP yes, it will automatically add it! A true gift to busy parents.

I’ve used maybe 6 or 7 different sports team apps for 3 different sports and this one has been the best.

App doesn't allow use of system font size. The size is too large by default. Needs to be a lot more efficient UI. Also slow loading.

Ongoing issues with scheduled events being canceled and re-added to calendar resulting in 100+ notifications during the course of a day. Issue makes it extremely difficult to follow up on communication from team managers in a timely manner as they get buried in the 100+ junk notifications from the calendar updates.

App works well but the notifications are atrocious. Hardly ever work

The app always takes forever to load

This chat app is so dated. Just needs some of the basics like mentioned above. For it to be a hub of team conversation, not having this function causes confusion and pushes me to email so people can find older information. Another nice to have would be expanded emojis.

The Crossbar platform offers plenty of flexibility and ease for scheduling games and communicating with teams. It has a clean design and allows me to get the information I need quick and efficiently.

App is good but we need the ability to add lines and assign beer!

Ok app. Wish there was a “maybe” for player availability. Without that option, it seems like a player is committed to YES/NO for attendance & sometimes a player just doesn’t know until the last minute.

Quit asking me if I like crossbar. You’re acting like an insecure child.

Overall crossbar is good, however the biggest thing I miss from using Teamsnap is that crossbar doesn’t have the saved group email function. As a team manager, I send out emails with attachments or lots of information that I don’t want filling up chat. Under a messages button should be chat and email. That way when I send emails they are saved and parents can go back and look at the information. For example emails about hotel blocks, tournament instructions, complete schedule attachments, photo order forms, etc. Please create this in crossbar and then it might be just as good as TeamSnap and would get five stars.

Let’s start with this: Crossbar just gave me a pop-up to rate the app. I chose a thumbs down and selected to send specific review feedback. The screen reverted back to the thumbs up/down screen, with my thumbs down selection cleared. And then it froze. So it seems they aren’t accepting negative reviews on a poorly functioning app? I’ve been a parent of three kids for 22 years. I’m no noob to sports team apps. We have a blended family. Multiple people need access to my kid’s schedule. It took over six attempts to successfully get his team data and schedule to populate for his stepmom and dad when they were invited from his profile. By doing the same process multiple times - and at random it finally worked for one of them, but not the other. Grandma gave up. We’re texting screenshots. Newsflash developers: workarounds get a one star. I’d like to be able to chat message the coaches when we have a sudden change of plans. But I only have the option to message a team group chat, or guess which person on the team is Coach. The app doesn’t assign titles and in our case there are multiple people with the same last name. Then, my only option is to text that person individually with SMS. Weird. What if I wanted to create a separate thread for carpool chat group? Can’t do that in the app either. That’s not hard, people. Please create an icon to start a new chat and offer the option to import contacts from the connected team. Hockey parents need help. You think the ONE person to establish themselves as the adult connection to the kid is the only person supporting practice pickup, drop off, volunteering, and games? Give me a break. No, for real, though. Can anyone drive my kid to their 5:30 a.m. practice on Wednesday?…(Crickets)…JK! Asking for a friend

I’ve seen the improvements so far, so thank you, but a common complaint I’m getting is that messages bug out and post twice all the time and also that you can’t see the full team names. The team name is more of an issue because we have multiple program sessions of the same program so the start of the team name is the same. Can you have names scroll into view or resize if too large, or even let us turn the phone sideways to see the full name? Thank you

I love this app because I can talk to my team and be in the know of everything while also seeing a schedule but I feel like it could use a players only chat and a parents only chat along with a team chat for everyone. also, could use an option to just see games or just see practices.

Easy to use. Looks nice. Wish there was a different way to view the schedule from my phone sometimes, but it does sync with my phone calendar where I can see it all at once. It is leaps and bounds better than SI Play.

We need to be able to edit and delete messages and not being able to do so is very upsetting. Also frustrating as an admin that you can only add to the schedule through the website and not the app. Also the fact that we cannot make chats within the app is frustrating it only gives users the option to send a text or email which defeats the purpose of the chat in app.

I have barely gotten started with this app and so far it's ok. I'm surprised that it has no way to scheduling recurring training sessions. To me, this seems like an absolutely essential function of the app. When coaching multiple teams for multiple training sessions each week, not having a recurring option leaves a lot more room for error and adds to the coaches load. For that alone, I can only give 3 stars.

Really helpful app for communicating with the team’s families, etc. BUT lately it has been freezing up a lot. Stuck unable to load my teams, not showing chats that have come in or frozen on the login screen. Only work around for now has been to delete and reload the app.

Super easy to use on the non administrative side. The chat option and ability to DM people made communication this season a breeze. I had 2 kiddos on separate teams and the app made tracking and planning much more manageable. I plan on recommending this app to some of the other travel teams the kids play on.

The only option that is lacking, that I really miss, is being able to mark a participant as a “maybe”. If there was a “maybe” option, coaches would know that we aren’t just a “no response” and we are waiting on something else to fall into place before committing.

Enjoy this app and the ability to communicate with the teams and coaches. Frustrating when it glitches. Sometimes notifications don’t update. Have had to delete and re-download about once a month. Really like that it will publish to my family calendar on iCal.

I like the app but there are issues with notifications showing up on my Lock Screen but then immediately disappearing. Even when I unlock the phone and scroll down for the notifications they are gone. FYI, I have it set the same way is all my other apps for notifications.

Play a ton of sports and it is so organized with what sports I play on here it is really easy and o get on time to all my practice because of how organized it is. Highly recommend if you play sports or for parents that kids play sports. 5 stars Hockey goalie

It’d be really great if Crossbar could have an attendance tracking function like other sports apps to help with preparation for the lineup and practice plans. This would avoid the need for the coache to ask over and over or the parents needing to remember to alert coaches to their player being late:absent from games or practice. The app sends a reminder and parents click yes or no.

Pretty decent app. There’s a few things that could be done to save time from switching teams if you’re like me and have four kids playing. Also, they need to allow you to delete your comments! I’m constantly posting in the wrong team!

This App is awesome. Perfect tool for of all sports. Organization is awesome and it is easy to use. If there was a video feature to send clips of film; that would make this a 5 star App. Pics are still great to send. Being able to send videos would be exceptional.

Would be helpful if we could “select all” to send a group text message or email. Instead of chatting in the group thread within crossbar. Also, the ability to print the calendar would be helpful. Great app though. Just offering suggestions for improvement

Using the chat feature is like using AIM in 2002. No reactions to messages available (like, dislike, laugh, etc). So instead of being able to like a message in acknowledgement of “interest in playing a game today?” my phone buzzes for the next hour with responses from every parent.

Kids nowadays have busier schedules than in the past. This will help parents stay ahead of the game. Links all kinds of sports to the family and provides a calendar of upcoming events.

Please make it possible to click on the address link and automatically connect to google maps. Also, please make updating the address easy for admin. Also, it defaults to recent events, which is confusing because there is no clear indication that it isn’t the whole schedule.

Would be nice if we could enter a reason why out child won’t make a practice or game. This way we don’t have to spam the entire team in the chat.

The text is nice and large. Makes it so easy to read and it’s pleasing to the eye. Alerts are very effective since they have the red logo color along with it.

It’s sluggish and often times doesn’t give notifications from the message board until and hour or two after it has been posted. Other than the sluggishness, it’s a very easy app to move through.

Crossbar is perfect, well it would be if one feature would be added. Adding the feature to be able to communicate with coaches and team managers would make this app 10x better.

I really like the layout and design of this app. There is only one small thing that I would change, which is within the app, allow the coach to schedule repeating practices rather than entering them individually.

Add a spreadsheet!! One we can use to sign up and edit as parents, to sign up for the clock, penalty box, and locker parent ect!!! So we don’t have to triple check an email, on a daily basis: crossbar chat, crossbar schedule, and an email and the spreadsheet the team managers have to create over all the other tasks…

It’s so easy to find out when and where your events are and talk to your team,I highly recommend this app!

Crossbar has been a great way for all our teams to communicate. I have 2 boys on 2 different teams and it works amazing for our family!
