Play-Cricket Live

The ECB made much of their partnership with Cognizant being focused on grass roots cricket, not seen any improvements in Play Cricket yet.. Can we get a live activity for a chosen match to make it easier to follow on Watch, phone and in CarPlay. Can you also just fix the fact that some matches don’t show up properly and you need to search for them in one of the team’s fixture list.

Terrible app. So temperamental and never works properly. Nowadays it must be much easier to make an app like this with very little money….

Okay cricket keeps crashing website hopeless

It’s cumbersome , keeps crashing, never find wha you are looking for toy keep having to close down app and go back through it all as it won’t refresh. Total waste of time I’ll just use the club’s WhatsApp to follow the scores.

It’s dreadful, so painful to get to see a live match score - an old app which is about right for the ECB, don’t care about grass roots and have no performance management of England sides full stop. Cricket will not exist in England over the next couple of decades unless you get rid of all the old white haired men involved.

There is no option to select a favourite for the 2026 season. This app is unusable.

My main problem with the app is it’s to difficult to look at leagues and to see personal statistics

Awkward UX, doesn’t remember much, (same with most online ECB services), it defaults to a cricket season from three years ago! And often needs delegating and reinstalling. Good to catch up on favourite live scores if scorer is plugged in.

Terrific app. I can keep updated on my grandson’s team.

Entirely random whether it shows you a game being live scored or streamed. One device can have it but one next to it not. Refreshing and reopening sometimes works but not always. When it does work it's great although viewing player stats is early annoying with extra sign-in.

Good to see the stats but it’s not updated live.

Whether it’s updated iOS issues or just poor maintenance.. who knows?

I have used play cricket a lot and I would say it is good but very cumbersome. For example, every single time, even when you click remember me, you need to fill in your account details to view player stats which involves me doing this chore every day. Also, you need to favourite a team to see their score, unlike the PC website which you can just search up the team. I have so many favourites teams just so I can see all the relevant cricket info - and I need to scroll down a lot to find the exact match I want to look for on a certain day. It can also load better ie. every ball as you end up looking at the score or being late because it only loads every over. There should also be more ways to click on scorecards and teams, as when seeing the videos or matches there is no way to click on that team or match and you have to click on a future game to find the team and hall of fame, squad, team etc. Lastly, the ability to link accounts or do more on the app instead of directing you to the website would be greatly appreciated. All in all, you should still download play cricket as it is the best out there and it works well I have just pointed out things you will slowly find frustrating as your time on the app continues. I used to be the pc website guy and if you can that is better. This post is basically in hope someone will see and fix these changes to make the experience more smooth as it does get very annoying as time wears on Thanks ☺️

Score on the summary screen never seems to match the detail behind it , frequent SSL errors , almost impossible to follow a match from start to finish. Come on ECB ! You have to do better than this !!

The worst app I have had the misfortune to encounter.

It’s a pretty good app for viewing your own matches, but could be so much better if it allowed some customisation to view matches in other leagues/age groups. Also, some of the information is lost off the bottom of my screen (iPhone 13) and won’t display properly

Rarely works properly on a Saturday afternoon - when it is most needed. Absolutely useless - don’t bother.

Never a Saturday goes by when the app doesn’t crash…….blooming annoying when trying to follow matches… Why, on a Saturday when most matches take place, does the app fail to cope????? Waste of time really.

It helps so much to track my progression throughout my time in playing cricket it is giving me useful information and overall it a perfect app

The Thames Valley League used to have all its data on its website. Every week you could easily find all the results from all ten divisions and player stats and league tables were easy to find. Then they moved everything on to Play Cricket. Play Cricket is unbelievably difficult to navigate. Trying to find information on your own team is relatively simple; trying to find the division’s results, league table or multiple teams or clubs is even worse. Your have to add to favourites but even that isn’t straight forward. Why they cant have a total league view is beyond me. Amazingly if you use the app on iPad and iPhone, you can find that it works differently on the two devices and doesn’t seem to synchronise items like favourites or have the same way of navigating around.

Potentially a great app but keeps freezing. Bug fix soon please

Can’t understand and follow it at all. Make it easier please.

When following a match, irritating when you refresh you have to go back and click on the tab I was watching every time (usually scorecard or ball by ball). Why not just refresh what I'm looking at? The Match Stream tab is always blank so pointless, my sons match was live streaming and there was nowhere to actually watch it, the youtube link not even on the Match Stream tab.

The concept is great, but the navigation and usability is woeful. It’s a nightmare to simply just find what you’re looking for.

I wish it had user friendly navigation

Frequently fails to load pages and fails to show scores on summary page. Very slow responsiveness.

You should be able to change teams and update players easily. But that’s not the case!

Good app

A week doesn’t go by without this app not working. Either games just don’t appear to be working at all or halfway through an innings the live score disappears and it goes back to just displaying the fixture as if it is yet to start. Have had to resort to the good old paper scorebook of pate. The sooner there is an alternative, the better.

Doesn’t recognise registration. When registers doesn’t recognise email. When recognises email doesn’t recognise password. Repeat loop.

Tricky to navigate, certainly not very intuitive and very clunky. Difficult to find what you’re looking for and not a great user experience setting it up. Once you have managed to set it up and find the right teams etc then it’s pretty good. Could be more informative for example highlighting when a match is suspended due to rain is not very clear. With some work this could be five stars but I’m only giving it two as the developers have made some fundamental mistakes.

Still failing to live up to the promise. Adding favourites is a nightmare- multiple sign ins, and then again when following player stats. And… if anyone can figure out how to remove favourites- let me know. Works much better in an iPad btw, but still resorting to using the Web version more often than the app.

It’s been glitchy and pretty crap since I started using PC years ago but at least it worked to a certain extent. For the last 2 weeks when trying to update the score it just has endless circles spinning. It occasionally deigns to update it but doesn’t work when trying to look at the scorecard or the ball by ball info. The most frustrating app I’ve ever used, but the idea of it is absolutely brilliant. Shame it doesn’t actually work.

Great concept and when it works it’s great to keep up with teams across age groups and levels but constant connectivity issues ‘network errors’ (despite excellent Wi-Fi reception) mean it only works about 20% of the time. When it does connect I’m often presented with ‘no matches being played’ despite sitting watching one! 🤔

The app is amazing and all but one thing that most people complains about is the login system as you have to sign in almost every-time you go in to the app as it doesn’t remember that you were logged in hopefully they can fix this

Half the games you click on you can’t see the detail and have to toggle on and off the game. You can’t log in to it at all, you reset the password and it never works and it slow to update. Poor effort after so much promise, you don’t get this with football apps, people running stuff like this with no clue what the audience want or need!

A good App generally, but one of the things that irritates me is that I can’t see the team sheet on the app, but I can on the website version! Super annoying when I’m trying to arrange transport sharing etc. why is it different?

Just wondering why are the scores not being recorded Live on the App

When it works, the app is fantastic. It’s a sunny day in England and it has crashed. Gutted!

First two matches off the season and live is not working . Just get a screen most of the time saying fixture upcoming rather than the live score . Really frustrating as both parents can’t be at the matches and we love following on this . Please sort it out .

The new redesign has made this nearly unusable. The “My competitions” dashboard is an absolute mess. The old version of being able to shortcut to your team or league was so much easier to use. The new version is just a mass overload of everything making it hard to find individual matches.

Gives less information than the website and the website is terrible to start with. Just an illogical mess. Would just like to see the matches my son is scheduled to play in, but this seems like it was never considered as a user story.

When you want to check the scores, it defaults to the first game of the season rather than current / most recent game. Not the end of the world but an annoyance.

Constant problems this season - ball by ball still not working and often goes offline when you’re following a game. Not a complicated app … can’t understand why performance is so poor. CricHQ so much more reliable.

No clear explanation of setting a club up if you’re an administrator or whether you can amend teams set to by leagues for fixtures purposes or even what To use Live app or Score app for. People who set these apps up need to think a lot more about this

Website worked perfectly. Have to sign in pretty much every time to use either the website or the app if looking at induvidual stats. Remember me button doesn’t work. Extremely frustrating and nonsensical idea - unnecessary at best.

Still very buggy. Doesn’t display the correct score half the time. When it works it is a brilliant app with loads of potential.

The changes have certainly not improved it. Much better as it was before. I have nearly thrown my phone across the room in exasperation. Can’t think of a you’d thing to say about it. And having to put in a nickname to send the review was the last straw. I just

Why change something which worked. Ridiculous you have to sign in all the time. You then can’t go back to where you were after you’ve signed in. Rubbish

Always slow to update scores - sometimes an hour delay. This is been going on for several seasons now. Wish there was an alternative.

I am from Frenchay cricket club. This is the best app to see all the scores and upcoming fixtures.

If you scroll down to the rules at the bottom of the screen you can’t click on the link because it disappears behind the footer banner.

Never updates quickly. Hasn’t worked properly for the last 2 days. Needs a lot of work!!

Getting really fed up with this app. Constantly showing no scorecard date. Ball by ball says innings not started but in summary gives current score. Very frustrating.
