The app has been great, but since the last update that introduced Passkeys, all alerts are opening to a blank screen and not the actual message or notification that it tried to open.

Lacks Basic Function
I’ve been using this app for years and been asking for basic functionality and they still have not delivered. You cannot underline capitalize or italicize anything in a post. Sometimes you just wanna call something out and not having that functionality is just ridiculous. Not being able to replied directly back to your team so they get notified when you answer the question they’ve asked is also not helpful. We’re relying on kids to come back to the app to see if I answered that may or may not happen. This app could be amazing, but the functionality is just not there. Unfortunately, I’m forced to use it because the school wants to.
no ability to sync with personal calendar
app is fine except that i don’t see a way to automatically sync with my google calendar and i do not enjoy having to put each event in manually. seems crazy in this age where syncing is the norm. even the pro version does not appear to have this. only reason i am using this is because my school requires it. GameChanger is so much better
It was once great
Well we have used SportsYou for years and it was a great app until they decided to charge people to see images posted on the app. Guess it’s time to look elsewhere.

Exceptional alternative
I was using texting as a means of communication last year. With two seasons under my belt I understand the power and safety protocols in this format. It's an exceptional alternative that I think more high schools will adapt to in the future. The learning curve is not to steep and I've yet to use all the features.
Help
Good app but can’t make a new chat
Mostly good
Functions well with a few quirks. One feature I feel like it really needs is an option for Administrators to be able to delete individual messages in a chat. I use it for a high school team and the complete inability to control player messages (through deleting or restricting privileges) keeps this from being perfect.

INFURIATINGLY BUGGY
I don't think there's been a single time where I've opened the app and been able to accomplish my goal without having to force quit and restart at least once. Trying to upload more than 5 pics? Get ready to freeze. Sensing a message? Freeze. Making a group post? Freeze. The idea behind this app is EXCELLENT, but the functionality is TRASH. Even parents have had to completely uninstall and reinstall the app to get things to work correctly. If not for my school requiring this, I would NEVER use it again.
Options for teams
As a track and field coach, I want a tab that I can message or drop documents in for just specific team members about events they are participating in. Not private messages, but something that everyone can access, but that maybe only a few athletes would get a notification for.
Forced to Use
Like all of these apps, they have complicated license agreements and privacy policies. They clearly sell your data. If your school or team forces the use of this app, be sure to push back. Limit what you put in the app and take precautions with your data.
Inaccurate navigation addresses
Any other app when you click the place where the event is going to be, it will take you to the place accurately.
This app is terrible almost concerning where it will send you. NO JOKE HERE.
Literally in the middle of nowhere where you can’t even recheck because there is not signal your connection goes SOS needing satellite connection you will have to get out of your car ( which I didn’t ).
I left for the game with plenty of time and I ended in the wrong town because the app sent me to a different town.
If I will be the one taking the athletes or Athletes driving themselves they will miss to be on the time requested for the coach.
This is very bad, when you have to be in an area you are not familiarize with. Nobody who to ask neither.

Terrible design
So many poor choices in this app design. Chats are hard to follow and it’s not intuitive to see who is in them. All chats start with the same title and most users don’t know to edit the title. So you end up with 15 chats all with the same name and no idea who is in them. This is in the running for the worst app I have ever used. No lie

I used this app for a sport completely oblivious and believing I wouldn't need it for long. I still use this app and highly recommend it! Especially for wide groups such as schools because it provides networks for clubs and classes in one easy accesible app!

Text message Notifcstions
We need to be able to choose to have these notifications/chat messages sent to us via text message. Not being able to get these messages via text holds users hostage, requiring users to check the app constantly.

This is the absolute WORST app I have ever used. My school has just switched to this for all sports and other platforms. It is so extremely slow, does not send notifications when it supposed to even though the notifications are turned on for the app, and messages don’t load. It lags terribly and we will be taking action with the school to get them to change because this isn’t working

I like sports you because you know when practice is and everything the only thing I don’t like is that we can only watch a certain amount of videos!
App is very buggy
Good luck if you need to log in or forgot password. I spent endless cycles trying to reset password and it would never work. Had to create a new account. Crashes or freezes on iPad Pro.

What made SportsYou so special was it's minimalism & lack of invasive ads & upgrades packages. Now that they're selling their "Pro" version that has basic features locked behind a paywall. If you choose not to pay for pro, your app is now littererd with upgrade ads.

Terrible app performance
Normally I don’t leave reviews, but this app made me feel like I need to. It does its job in letting me contact my students in a secure manner, which is all fine. But wow, the group chats are so slow when I scroll up or down through the chat history. I’m not sure if the developers took advantage of using a lazy list to render everything, but it feels like it’s all stored in memory on runtime. There’s no reason my iPhone 16 pro should be having performance issues on a scrollable screen in 2025. This is the biggest issue with this app!!!
Fantastic app for team sports
This app has been a life saver for the junior high sports that I coach. The students and parents can get updates from me anytime, message me anytime, it’s wonderful. The in app calendar is a HUGE plus. I’m keeping the five star rating but the only hiccup is it needs to be restarted every now and then when using the app on an iPad. A little lag time but not enough to remove a star.
Awesome app but could use one more feature to be perfect
Love this app for communicating with my son’s soccer team. The one thing I wish it had was a snack calendar! We are always scrambling trying to figure out who is bringing snacks to games. And then when we do try to get a signup going, it’s always frustrating trying to remember what service we’ve used look up who’s doing what when it comes to game days. It would be amazing to have it built in here to this app we’re already using!
Not getting notifications
I’ve never had an issue with the app, then two weeks ago I suddenly stopped receiving notifications. I’m checking the app every few hours to see if there is anything has been posted. Please fix the lack of notifications.
Notifications not working
Good all, but recently I do not get any notifications on app. Please provide an app update. After reading reviews it is clear this is a widespread issue. Three people using app in my house are not receiving the notifications.
Great app! One problem…
This app is amazing! I love being able to stay in contact with my team and coach, and send them things when I need to. But recently, despite me having notifications turned on in the app and in settings, I cannot receive sports you notifications. This is very frustrating because for example, when I’m waiting on a text from my coach about something important, or waiting to see if anyone replies to a question I asked, I have to continuously check the app to see if they answer rather than the app sending me the notification. I’ve tried everything, I’ve installed and reinstalled the app, checked for updates, turned notifications off and back on, reset my phone. For some reason sports you just won’t send me notifications and it’s beginning to get increasingly annoying, especially during a sports season and as a team captain of 2 sports when people should be able to count on me to answer, but can’t.

Hide the keyboard!
The keyboard is always showing when scrolling. HIDE the keyboard when we scroll up. Half the screen space is wasted while reading messages.
Messages self delete
For the most part the app is great. A very clear way to get everyone all together. As a coach for a section of a marching band, it’s very helpful how much you can divide the team into smaller chats in the same place you can have the full team, and their parents. HOWEVER, I’ve been having a big issue of when I go to message my students and their parents, once I get past one line of text, the message just fully deletes itself. Sometimes I can get it to work again by exiting our messages and reopening them. But that doesn’t always work, and even when it does, it takes more time than I should’ve spent.
A good app👍
Everything is good except one thing, I was able to change my profile picture and tap on others to see theirs and add them but now it won’t let me do that, while I checked on a friends sports you account and they could. Besides that it’s a really great app that helps me stay in touch with my team and coach.
No notifications caused major misses
We were missing important posts- missing practices and game conversations- because the app had stopped giving us notifications.
I emailed SportsYou from their website and eventually got it fixed but no notifications went on for a long time first.
So many issues
This app seems to get worse with each update. If it wasn’t required by the district to use this app, our team would use Band. SO many more features and far less bugs.
Please, please work on stability and getting notifications consistently delivered before attempting to implement additional features.
No notifications
Bruh fix the notifications! Like come on, that’s all you see in internet reviews of this for months. What’s up?! Should be a no brainer, notifications have been a thing on apps for like 10 years.
But yeah, free app, decent features other than the one critical thing you might like in a communication focused app.
App badge notification count is always 14?
Whenever I get a notification, the badge count on the app is 14. Doesn't matter if I have 1 notification or more, the badge count says 14. The same thing is happening on my husband and daughter's apps too. Other than this bug, I like the app!

Pretty good but login issues
The app on the iPhone is pretty good without much issue (Please implement dark mode though in the app), but the Apple watch app does not let me sign in. When opening the watch app for the first time it gives the option to sign in on the watch itself or log in via iPhone. When pressing the option to log on via the Apple Watch, it tells you to put in your ID (what ID?) and password and doesn’t work. When selecting the log in via iPhone, it waits for you to authorize it on the iPhone, and when authorized on the iPhone, the app on the Apple Watch just sits there with “Requesting login info…” indefinitely displayed on the screen no matter how good the connection between the phone and watch is or strength of the internet or cellular connection. This is very annoying as I want to use the watch app version for this. Please fix this
Better than Band for team communication
This is definitely the best sports communication app we’ve ever used and prefer it over band for sure. However I cannot give it 5 stars because there are still a lot of bugs with it. Sometimes I’ll open the app and I can’t see anything on my home page after I get a notification about posts being made on one of my Teams. Other times the app just won’t load at all and I’ll have to go to the online version to see the notification.
If we can fix bugs that I constantly see after using the app for 2 years it would 5 stars from me! With that being said I still LOVE the app for communication and would totally recommend it for All Star Cheerleading!
Best sports communication app hands down
I use this for my travel team as well as our rec league and I have to say, it is the best app that is out there right now. It allows you to post photos, update games and practices all on one calendar that allows you to link up to your phone calendar. You are able to post files ( such as minutes and rules) and chats amongst the whole or individually. Only thing I don’t like, is that there is no tagging option, so if I want to reply back and tag a person, I am not able to.
Nonexistent Notifications
My school recently switched from GroupMe to sportsYou for their clubs and sports. I like the app, but there is a MAJOR issue. I turned on every single notification setting, but I’m not receiving notifications whatsoever. I read a review from a year ago with a person who had the same problem, and y’all said that y’all fixed it, but it still doesn’t work. Please fix this because I need to know when my coaches are sending out important information without having to check the app every five minutes. Thank you for your consideration!

Apple Watch App Needed
Hello. So I am a player on a soccer team that use this app. I love it and it’s easy to use but there is just one tiny thing I’d add, an Apple Watch app. At school when I receive messages I can’t read it unless it’s a chat, which is really annoying if it’s an important announcement or we don’t have practice that day meaning I need to get a ride home. It doesn’t need to have everything the app for the phone has, just the ability to read messages. Besides that one tiny thing, I love this app.
Trouble connecting to server
Absolutely loved this app before this problem. I had trouble a week ago trying to connect to the server. I finally had to sign out as it just wouldn’t load. Now I can’t sign back in. I use 2 different emails and can’t remember which one I used for this app but I have tried both and I still cannot get into the app. I tried setting up another account and my phone number is, of course, already in use. What now?
Awesome App for teams
I have been looking for an app to manage a sports team and found it! I needed one that would allow me to post messages , send notifications and host photos as well as videos. I tried several others but no one would email me back to answer questions. Pasko not only emailed me back but called me to answer all my questions ( I had lots!) He was very helpful and answer ever question to my satisfaction. Thanks Pasko and Sportsyou!
Great app | few suggestions
- the new splash screen is painfully long. 3 of 4 times the user intent for accessing the app is to reference important logistic info from coaches or games, while in context of more urgent decision making. Suggest cutting duration of Gretzky quote.
- when trying to start new post or conversation > it’s unclear to whom and where I actually have permissions to post. I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t create a team chat. It seemed as though I ought to be able to. Help me understand difference between posts, chats, etc.
Many issues
Many issues on my end and your tech support and sales can’t help! I have been working with Mark and Filip but no resolutions! Filip has ghosted me on emails!! Mark has talked on the phone and become an admin to my team! He is the one posting my pdf files - why can NONE of you log in as me and see what I see? Why does your staff not have that function

Very useful
We used this app last season for a high school baseball team. Can’t say enough good things about it. You can create different groups for same team. We had one for coaches and players only and then we had one for coaches and parents. I coach infield so I also made a group just for infield players. You can add schedules to the app as well. App is very simple to use and didn’t have any user problems last season
Great App, but I have some questions
I was on a basketball team for my school, and needed this app, but I still have some questions.
1. When my coach would post on the group, I would have to wait til I was on internet. Is there a way to make it so if you have bars, it will still load?
2. POSTING: I have a page that you can post (not the team page) but when you post who can see it? like the team? or the all the users of SportsYou? because both would be different posts.
Best app for team contact
I’ve been using sportsYou for several years after trying several other platforms. In my opinion it’s the best! I coach track both indoor and outdoor and as I do not reach on the school, communication is sometimes difficult. With sportsYou I can send notices, private chats as well as daily calendar updates on the Home Screen. Customer support is excellent as well. Highly recommended
Worked great at first…
I am the head coach of a high school team. I switched our team from Remind to SportsYou because Remind had character limits and no calendar, files, or photos. SportsYou worked great at first but now messages are not showing as readable on our team feed. Images are blocked out by links when they’re both included in posts. This was not happening until the past couple of weeks. I deleted and reinstalled the app but it didn’t work. Everything shows up fine on desktop version but no one carries around a computer. The app is buggy and needs fixed otherwise it is useless!
It’s good
Sports you is good to communicate with your coaches and teammates. I play for FCA Bravehearts volleyball and it is really helpful when trying to find the place you need to go. It has the days you practice and the days you have games. You can post pics and videos on it from games and practices. And you can make announcements. Over all this is a great app.
I need help with the chat option and I can’t find a place to contact the creators
We love using this app for our figure skating team however, when we create a group chat for some of our team members, we are unable to see who has viewed the chat. It tells us how many people have viewed it, but we cannot see who from the group has seen it. Is there a way to check this?
Clunky crashy and trashy
I do not like this app at all every single time I open it it crashes and I’m unable to see literally anything that is posted in it because it crashes every time I turn it on. I wasn’t able to access an important document just because every single time I clicked on the button to open the app, it would just crash!The developers really need to fix this if they want people to use it still I highly do not recommend it and recommend Remind instead as it does a better job without crashing.
Great overall app for teams
This app is perfect in almost every way - the only thing it’s lacking is the ability to tag people in posts or comments. This would help notify certain individuals specifically and be a great feature! Otherwise I love everything this app has to offer so far.
Fix Alerts please!
The notifications are broken and have been for a long time! The “alerts” tab always shows a blue notification circle, and the app notification number goes from being cleared to reporting notifications again with nothing new to alert.
This notification bug renders much of the real time communication capability of the app useless due to constantly crying wolf. When the notifications are fake 99% of the time, they cease having value.
PLEASE fix this!!
Can’t login for some reason.
One day last week, I had bad connection, then it logged me out.
I’ve been trying to sign back in ever since, i’ve reset my password like 20 times and still says my credentials are incorrect.
This is very frustrating, especially being an athlete and I can’t even respond or know about important events. If there is a bug or something can it please be fixed thanks!
Great! But…
App not showing notifications. All setting are correct and still not getting notifications to show up. Super frustrating when trying to stay in contact with a team! Still missing 1 feature. You cannot “like” a comment left under a post. Very annoying when needing the commenter to know you’ve seen their message. Please add this feature!!
Alerts Feedback
After receiving an alert that a post has been added to a chat, once you read the message, it would be great for the alert to automatically go away. Now, I have to go to the alerts tab, click on the alert for it to go away. Current behavior causes additional keystrokes and isn’t normal behavior in other apps.

Worth the switch
I switched my team to this app from band about 2 months ago. Love it so far! It looks better and makes it easier to communicate. I love being able to have multiple groups with in my team and the chat feature works great. So far so good!
Efficiency issues
As someone in multiple clubs that use this app, I’ve become acutely accustomed to the issues within this app.
1. Notifications from direct messages and group chats can’t be distinguished - leads to a lot of confusion.
2. No previews for posts in the notifications.
3. The messages don’t update automatically within chats - you could see a notification in your notification center in a chat, but unless you exit the chat, refresh, and reenter the chat, you won’t be able to see it.
4. You can’t filter the calendar - would be helpful so you could look specifically at events for one team when you’re in multiple.
This app is *fine* for clubs. But just fine. Apps like BAND and GroupMe are much more efficient for communication, especially when you use that communication a lot. This app could use some work.
Needs delete option
I really like the app it’s pretty easy to use. I have multiple teams that I need to communicate with at times and the fact that I can post to all of them is great.
My only issue with the app is 1 I can’t copy and paste for the calendar and two of I mess up I can’t delete when writing a chat. I need to be able to make corrections
Can’t use an app that doesn’t let you
I have deleted this app many times and reinstalled but every time I get to birthdate and gender I click on both boxes and the next button is still unpressable I am over the age of floor and go onto the link to see guidelines and it won’t let me continue, I play for a school team and it’s the only app we use, I am currently in a day for tryouts and waiting to see what team I made but can’t log in because it says that I’m logged in on my coaches roster yet I can’t seem to get in
Would be better if images in comments were supported
We were forced to switch to this app from the Band app. I found it really lacking that we cannot add images to comments, and the event, reservations and interactions are lacking. The app itself is responsive, enough, and the user interface is not a challenge however, it seems a lot of room for growth is available.
Lacking options
Only using this app because the school district restricted use of other apps. It would be nice if there were options to tag someone posts or comments, to react to comments not just posts. Also the ability to pin important information to the top of a team group.
Many users in my group have expressed the lack of notifications even though they do have all notifications turned on.
Missing many standard features
Missing dark mode. Unable to edit messages once sent. Attempting to move cursor within message jumps the cursor back to original position making it difficult to make changes. Scrolling of messages is unstable and not smooth. No sorting options of chats. No grouping chats by teams. No simple calendar month and year selector. Have to swipe to get through months rather than select exactly where want to go.
No notifications
This app is great to manage the team and send out announcements. The biggest problem with this app is the lack of notifications. I have tried different things so that I get the phone notifications and nothing. I have to open the app to see new chat messages or announcements. As a coach, I want to make sure I am able to get alerts when I get a message from an athlete.
Good except for ONE thing
I logged onto SportsYou for soccer, and it looks like a good app. The only thing was when it asked me to put in my email I put ONE wrong letter. Because of that one letter I’m now unable to get emails from the app which I REALLY NEEDED. And if your wondering if you can change it, no,

Crashing; Update - Working Great Again
Can’t get in since update. Instant crash. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it did not help.
UPDATE: Apparently the crash was due to an administrator adding a bad link. Once the link was removed, the app worked perfectly again!
Good, but could use some work
The app hasn’t seen any noticeable improvements in 2 years.
When I enter Posts from an iPhone, and go to next and go back, it is impossible to edit the post as the space I have is less than a single line while I have a ton of white space underneath it.
I can’t do photos and background colors.
I can’t reply to a comment. It rather just puts new comments at the end even though I may be replying to something further up. Along with that, editing and deleting my comments or the comments of others on my post would be appreciated.
Editing an event in any way erases all planned attendance. Grrrr
Being able to run a report on attendance would be GREAT!
CANT DELETE MESSAGING
This app is okay and very useful for time management BUT i cannot delete messages this is a inconvenience to me and a lot of other people. For example i came to practice at the wrong time and texted me coach about the location to see if it was right them i found out i came to early and now i am unable to delete the message i sent me coach and now i am left INCREDIBLY embarrassed and disappointed that i couldn’t avoid this public embarrassment with a simple mechanism to delete your message in conversation.
EXTREMELY UNHAPPY
My app has randomly COMPLETELY stopped working! It shows no new posts in any groups or chats and nothing new on the calendar. When I click on alerts the app crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Our entire organization uses this app for our teams as well as our board group and chat. I now have access to none of it anymore and it does not even show me as a member anymore (and I was admin in each group.)
Amazing
A very good app that makes a coach’s life quite a bit easier! Great system and incredible customer service … just today Pasko helped me with an issue, with the level of focus and intensity as if it was his team that was having tryouts in 2 weeks !! Excellent 5 star service
Wow! And it’s free!
I had forgotten what good customer service was. Not that it was needed, but I wanted to see what we we’re getting into for the app. The set up was super easy and can’t wait to use all the bells and whistles and share it with the parents. Definitely recommended!

I love how this app is organized, everything is easily accessible and very clear, especially on the coaches side. My only qualm is that you can’t reply or respond to comments on posts. I always have parents commenting on posts and it’s hard to make clear who I’m responding to. Great app otherwise!!
