...und für die Zuschauer sowie Betreuer eine sinnvolle App - trotzdem habe ich eine persönliche Frage: wie lade ich die IRONMAN-Veranstaltung in Binz/Rügen 2018, wenn sie nicht automatisch in den zukünftigen Veranstaltungen angezeigt wird in die App? Kann man die Einstellungen entsprechend verändern?
Übersichtlich. Aber....
Die App ist wirklich übersichtlich, gut zu bedienen und bietet allerlei interessante Informationen, wenn sie denn kommen. Denn:
Ich folge heute 3 Personen beim 70.3 in Gdynia in Polen. Bisher kommen die Zwischenzeiten alle nur mit großer Verzögerung rein. Plötzlich dann 3-4 Benachrichtigungen auf einmal.
Ist dann ja kein Tracking mehr, wenn ich eine Info bekomme, dass Person XY jetzt im Ziel ist, und ich bereits vor knapp 15min mit der Person telefoniert habe.

Schnell die Übersicht des Rennens bekommen und den Verlauf nachvollziehen. Gut gemacht

IRONMAN 70.3 ist nur vom letzten Jahr vorhanden
Trotz der App-Empfehlung in der Teilnehmer E-Mail kann ich den IRONMAN Ruegen für den 9. September 2018 nicht finden, was ja bereits in 4 Tagen wäre. So ist die App für mich unbrauchbar.
Klasse, um trotzdem mitzufiebern , wenn man nicht an der Strecke sein kann!

Sie ermöglicht es, seinen Teilnehmer während des Wettbewerbs immer aktuell zu verfolgen. Läuft auch problemlos im Hintergrund und versendet Push-Meldungen, wenn wieder ein Zwischenziel erreicht wurde.

Gute Idee und eine einfache Navigation um Wettkämpfe zu finden. Auch jeden Athleten kann man gut finden. Noch schön ist der Tracker um mehrere Athleten zusammen in einer Karte zu sehen.
Mittendrin statt nur dabei
Eigentlich wollten wir bei diesem Rennen als Eltern dabei sein. Doch Corona macht uns einen Strich durch die Rechnung. Dank dieser App fühlte es sich fast so an, als wären wir dabei gewesen.

Endlich wissen wo der Athlet ist
Gerade bei Mittel- und Langdistanz ist es schwierig den Athleten beim Wettkampf zu begleiten. Oft sieht man sich nur am Start, während der wechsel und im Ziel.
Mit dieser App sieht man zu jeder Zeit wo der Athlet sich befindet und Platzierung mit Zwischenzeiten. Ich finde es einfach spitze!!!

une bonne application lui manque par contre à mon avis la possibilité d’être plus interactive avec les amis (fans) qui suivent la compétition: possibilité de laisser des commentaires, des félicitations… possibilité aussi d’identifier le nombre de vues et personnes qui se sont connectés…

On sait où se trouve le coureur en temps réel 👍,
On ne sait pas l’où on se trouve sur le plan (à moins de connaître parfaitement le lieu)
En conclusion: on ne sait pas se repérer par rapport à la borne de passage et le coureur…
Pistes d’amélioration
GPS pas toujours bien performant surtout sur la partie vélo.
Les km devraient être séparés par discipline afin de s’y retrouver plus facilement.

Parfait pour le suivi mais trop aléatoire lorsqu’il n’y a pas de réseau internet. Est-il possible de baser la trace à partir des données GPS ?

Cette application permet de suivre les courreurs en fonction de leur dossards mais le suivi n’est pas tps réel et surtout vous ne pouvez pas avoir le classement provisoire en permanence d’autant que le tableau remonte systématiquement aux premières places sans que vous ayez le temps de voir votre concurrent. Bref bien mais à améliorer

Une application très bien conçue pour connaître en direct les performances des gens qu’on connaît. On peut voir tout les temps intermédiaires ainsi que les coureurs sur la carte en direct ! C’est super pour suivre quelqu’un dans un autre pays !

Toutes les informations nécessaires aux tracking des athlètes se trouvent dans cette application.
Juste un point d’attention : dommage que les courses apparaissent seulement quelques jours (3/4 jours) avec le d-day, un délai plus important serait apprécié.

Le seul moyen de suivre un athlète
Pas la peine de passer par le site si vous êtes une bille en anglais, là, vous entrez soit le nom, ou prénom voir le numéro de dossard et vous avez son suivi en direct, en tendant bien l’oreille vous pouvez entendre sa respiration et même sentir sa transpiration

The tracking is very good honestly. Sometimes it was a bit hard to figure out how people are doing on the slower sections, like the swim and the run. The app wasn’t always very prompt with updating and sometimes that made it hard to figure out where people were. That’s being picky though, it’s leagues about other apps we have used to track athletes during races!

This made it a breeze to follow several different athletes. Great information and tracking. More glitchy on the run section but I think this was due to high volume of supporters in small area with poor 5G signal.

Great functions delayed data
I used this to track athletes at IM rügen, IM Wales and IM world championships at the same time and it was very easy to use and set up. Good functionality with extra things like course maps available for spectators. My only issue, and this may be more to do with data supply or phone reception, is that the time delay between athletes on the ground and the app data was quite large. On the bike, my athlete was several minutes/kms ahead of where the app map function said. The same on the run, so you couldn't rely on the position to set yourself to see an athlete, just the same old, pick a spot and wait for them to pass. Still, a useful app for free, so well done :-)

Great art been watching my nephew all day love the interaction and real time information also using it whilst talking on WhatsApp WhatsApp to the rest of the family. I guess the only thing I would add is more information on some of the requirements for the iron man such as time limits in which to finish et cetera some of us who are looking at this app have never even thought about an iron man challenge let alone understand what it entails Hat off to anybody who does it?

Brilliant app which allowed me enjoy the efforts of 3 family members participating in Ironman 70.3 Sunny Marbella and I could will them on all the way from a sultry Ireland today. Love the split screen for elevation and 2D or 3D position of athletes and the ability to see satellite as well as course layout screens. Brilliant fun. Thanks for a super way to participate and share in the achievements of the raceday athletes. 👏👏👏👏

Love the app it’s really immersive. I used a laptop to also access the Ironman website Andean mirrored the MacBook screen Toa 65” TV using AppleTV.
The App though is needed to see the participants you are tracking. With an IPad, Apple phone and the mirrored website screen it was as good as it possibly could be short of actually being there.

As a newcomer to Ironman, I am in England and my son has just completed his first in the Philippines it was a brilliant way of seeing how he was doing. There is so much information of times hence speeds it makes you feel part of the proceedings.
I got confused with some of the figures on the route map but the summary made it all make sense.
Thank you for providing such a marvellous tool so I can sit in the garden many miles away and follow his progress.

I don’t know who you got to write this app or how much you paid for it but he is a genius and I am very impress. Fast and Informative. Very very happy to be able to watch my family and friends real times splits and movements on the map option. Easy to load in a number of athletes to track at once. The app was completely glitch free.
It worked well using 4G only. I was sitting on a beach in the south of France watching my friends race In Real time. Superb

First Ironman
I couldn’t make it to support my son compete in his first Ironman today in Bolton. I was sorry, knowing the training and determination he had put into it. I needn’t have worried, I’ve followed home every stroke, pedal and step of the day. It felt I was there with him, the detailed information was amazing. The only thing I missed was the heavy rain on the day, I stayed nice and dry at home.

Key thing that would improve the app would be the ability to split the events (swim, cycle, run) out on the routes and to have the distance for each element set out individually rather than cumulatively - would make it easier for spectators to be able to understand the route and then track those they’re supporting. Otherwise, great app that really makes it easier for the supporter to cheer on their athlete!
It’s a good effort
The text is quite small so difficult to read at times. The tracker is always either 10 mins ahead or behind have experienced both every event. The notifications to say ‘completed’ each section of the race would notify better as ‘reached’ and only use the word ‘completed’ at the end of that section. But to be fair to track so many people so cleverly is impressive ;-)

This App made our spectator experience so much better! Updates sometimes were a little slow but that didn’t matter, that was a service issue, not app issue... we knew exactly where our IRONMEN were all around the course, Fantastic! Unlimited amount of people we could track, we could see who the leaders were of all age groups, well worth downloading!
All you need in one place
I’ve used all parts of the app. As a participant it was brilliant for full weekend information. As a fan, the info is great and the athlete tracker is second to none. So much data on each segment and the notifications coming through is an even bigger bonus.
Easy but floored
I downloaded this app to track my friends during the Ironman UK, it was easy to set up and allowed me to track the three of them during their swims and bike rides, up to a point...
Part way through the ride two of the three people I was tracking were shown as being stationary in the middle of a lake (I was pretty sure it wasn’t correct as they passed me on the road !!!)
This was an app failure not just me before anytime says it as others got the same issue!

Not live but no far away
Used this app on a couple of occasions when my son was doing an Ironman & Ironman Middle Distance Race. I could track his progress on the map & also got notifications of each section which I particularly liked. I would recommend this app to others.

Much improved on recent attempts to track multiple athletes at once. Updates in quick time, notifications about your chosen athletes progress. Could do with the map showing street/ road names of where your chosen athlete is rather than just an icon. Overall, excellent .

As an ultra runner I am often followed by many of my family and friends, and most events have tracker links to allow the dot watcher to be fully immersed in the event.
However.........this app is so much better, allowing for as close to exact location tracking and split data as you can get without being on the course. Ok I know the events aren’t out on the mountain trails and they skirt through cities etc, but the technology is great.
Additional little tricks like being able to see where you are in relation to your athlete and more importantly how close the nearest eatery is, is great.
Good job........I love this app and just how easy it is to use.

Another fantastic Ironman in Pembrokeshire, loved tracking the athletes who we knew were competing, the only snag with the app was the time lagging, the athletes were further along than shown so a little bit frantic for family and friends moving around the course following them
Worked Flawlessly
I was following some participants live. I got notifications for them at several stages and could follow their progress on the map and see their results during each stage. There was a live video stream of the finish but I didn’t realise this until I went on the website.
Simple to use
Very easy to follow the participants with good notifications when they pass a tracking point. Also maps although positioning not completely accurate but it gives you a good idea of the routes.

Does the job at every event and pretty accurate too. Love that you can track more than one person as when you’re a spectator for your Tri club it really comes in handy. Brilliant app. Only downside is it rinses your battery but that’s probably because of the constant GPS tracking so have a portable charger to hand :)
The loneliness of the long distance app tracker
This is my first use of this app and it has held my attention for all twelve hours of my son’s triathlon. It’s been a pleasure to have it at my fingertips, so many thanks to those who designed it and see you next time for sure.

Indispensable for Ironman followers
Open the app, search for your Ironman in any race and follow them. Dead simple, updates regularly and gives you notifications so you can get on with your day. Allows you to follow multiple athletes in multiple races. Simples.

When there’s no live coverage or if you’re actually following someone (& you’re at the event) this takes the guesswork out of how well your favourite Athletes are doing, whether an age grouper or a pro, great stats and clear with all the required information. 👍

Was able to track 2 competitors, app. was linked to garmin watch which gave notifications without checking phone. Data info was excellent & predictions of where on course at what time & predicted finish time. Only downside it drains battery so have a powerbar for back up
Absolutely brilliant
I cannot believe the detail that this App has given me to follow two friends doing the Ironman in Copenhagen. I have enjoyed following their progress through the day on the map, and receiving regular update from beginning to end.
What a treat
So simple to use yet so powerful. All the information you could possibly want at your fingertips. No hanging around waiting for information to update - there it was almost the second the transponder crossed the timing pad. So good to see that many of the athletes had uploaded photos. Well done.
Novice Ironman viewer!
Just a very minor thought, the mileage markers on the map may have been better coloured as per the route colours eg, blue background for miles 1&2, green for miles 3 to 114 and red for the remaining (run)section. I have thoroughly enjoyed the app which has enabled me to follow and enjoy the race without having tv coverage. Many thanks!

The only issue we found was the delay in tracking. Also when watching the athlete on the map if you pressed on his/her participant it would be good to get their live distance on the activity they were on with.

Excellent App. Lived the race with our two boys from 900 miles away. Brilliant. The push notifications could change the words a bit for non competitors like us so it’s clear they haven’t finished the run till the end!! But that said it was great.

It is great being able to follow athletes during the event. I like jumping between the data shown on the tracker and map. The graphics are really helpful too. It makes you feel involved in the athletes progress especially if you are unable to be at the event. Thank you.

App fantastic at tracking my husband and friends as they completed the event - timing spot on and made sure we were in the right place to support them. Used by family at home in the UK too who couldn’t travel and helped them feel part of the special day.
Terrible and causes a massive amount of stress
The tracking is appalling. At no point did the tracker show anywhere near an accurate position for any of the athletes I tracked on IM Tallin. It one point before I realised how inaccurate the app is I biked 10k to try to find my wife which the app said had stopped on the bike course though the other 2 athletes were still moving. It kept sticking and showing all 3 athletes in the same place. The run and bike courses are flat so no excuse for poor tracking.
What an amazing app!
It has allowed me to follow my son’s race from start to finish. I couldn’t come to Austria to support him as his Grandmother is recovering from an operation but this app has meant that we could be with him every stroke/turn/step of the way. Thank you.

I’ve used many apps for different events, and this one is the best so far. Gives you a breakdown of times, map tracker location and time due to each marker.

I recently downloaded the app and tracked my friend in the triathlon in Tenby. Absolutely brilliant to see his progress, split times and location as he progressed. Congratulations to whoever came up with the idea and then put it all together.

Great tracker - easy to use
Used this for IM Vichy to track five athletes and it was great. You need to allow push notifications. They come through really promptly, so you always have a good sense of where people are and when to expect them, but be warned, it does drain your battery!

This was a great app to help with information and tracking for my first Ironman 70.3
A Must-Have App for Ironman Spectators!
The highlight of this app is the ability to track one or more participants from start to finish, even in the dark! The maps are provided in 2D and 3D modes. Expand the maps and you can see street names as the participant makes turn-by-turn.
In a noisy spectator environment, the Audible notifications as the participant gets through timed check points, is a great plus! This way, one is able to view participant race stats at every stage.
The only downside is that when Internet signal is used by so many spectators at the race venue, tracking can be slow to update. However, if you are familiar enough with the app, you must estimate that your participant is a little further ahead than tracking shows. This enables you to be at a certain vantage place to see and cheer your favorite participants as they pass by.
Overall though, a much appreciated App!
Totally nails what you need for in person or Virtual Sherpa
Intuitive! Second time I’ve used this app. It was our sons first Ironman andI couldn't be at the race. Navigates well. Worked continually without any shut downs. Very much Real Time data. I really like how I could open other data and quickly get back to Tracker. For instance, pop open the elevation, touch and slide to view elevation and milage and then get right back to tracker. Features I especially liked: the stats that scrolled continually (age, gender, overall placement) and miles done with miles to go. I gathered data to text to family and friends during the race. One friend, who has competed in many Ironman races, wrote me “You would made a great on course Sherpa! I'm jealous!”

Spectating Planning Godsend
This app is the single best tool to use for planning the day-of spectation of a friend or loved one competing in an Ironman event. You can track multiple athletes both on time-in-event splits and time-of-day splits. These splits and the projected future splits take all of the error and much of the guesswork out of when to position yourself at certain locations, and the app even offers direction to those locations. The only suggestion I could make to improve this app would be for it to take into account the posted Ironman road closures in generating the directions to locations to view each athlete, which could cut out some time consuming navigational cross-referencing. But this app is invaluable and will be my first move in spectating any Ironman henceforth.
Could use a few tweaks
Did appreciate the tracking of a friend; but understanding exactly what’s happening & progress of my friend leaves more questions. First- am not clear if data reflects current place in the age-group or overall field. 2) we’ve got numbers, but it’s not clear if these numbers are referencing position in age group, time that’s elapsed since the start of the race, or duration of time within this discipline? I like the graph showing bike course & (I think) miles (distance) at different points in the race! But had “No idea” as to where my friend was in relation to

Phenomenal App! Worked Flawlessly
My first app review because this thing was THE BOMB! So many cool, easy to use features. Absolutely love how it aggregates athlete's data in an easy to read format and how easily athletes can be searched for/added to the roster. A bonus was the visual map of the course with (near) real-time updates of their position on the map. Of course, it has to estimate positions between timing stations but I was amazed at how well it did this. Also the notifications at the timing stations was such a cool feature! Made tracking my friends a thrill rather than a frustrating experience trying to navigate the worthless IRONMAN site. I would actually pay a good amount of money for this app....can't believe it's free. Thank you to the designers!
Easy to use
The app was great!! I bet the people who wrote the software and the people keeping the website going will be glad to see the races using it, all end successfully. What a responsibility to put out such an excellent program for so many people and have it run so smoothly. Awesome to provide to people watching the race and being where they need to be at the right time.
My only confusion with it was not knowing for sure which course would be used for my relative’s particular race. Otherwise, I’d rate it an 11–it answered all my other questions and was easy to navigate. Thanks.
Great app but drains your battery!!
This app is great and makes spectating at these Ironman events so much fun! You can plan and track your athlete(s) and see who stopped and where they stopped and how long and the alerts are great too. Really, without this app, spectating would not be as fun at all! That being said, it DRAINS your battery on your phone. I was with five people and we started watching it at 7am and all six of us by 1pm had zero battery and dead phones and missed the finish picture opps! Maybe we should have turned off alerts and that would have helped. But the app is so fun to watch and the alerts are super helpful. So it needs a little improvement but it is really great.
Ironman Tracker
This is my first time using this app so I’ve no other to compare it to. It was used to track one of my close friends competing in an Ironman competition. I was not sure how to use it when I first opened it but figured it out after hitting on the links. Once the athlete was in motion the information showed the progress of each event in time and miles from start to finish. I liked that it displayed the athlete’s ranking among the age group and overall competitor status.
Wish there was a way to let the athlete know you were cheering them on throughout the event or leave comments so they could see at the finish. Great app overall. I would recommend.
Frustrating Leaderboard
Inconsistencies when showing top results. Often limits to only top 10 results in category and no way to page through past 10 results. For the longest time, the Pro women results were capped at 10 while showed all men. That was fixed for a while but seems to have returned for both categories now.
Annoying to have to select “are you a participant?” each time you view a race and if you accidentally do, you’re screwed because you get annoying non-relevant push notifications. There’s no way to track someone without receiving all of their push notifications - clearly designed for someone who is only following a single athlete versus someone who wants to “virtually spectate” a race.
As a dev myself, I’d be embarrassed to ship something with this many inconsistencies and poor UI.
Ironman Tracker
Everything plus more was available to the spectators!! So happy to have had access to this app! I wish it had a visual component as well! There was a decent amount of lag time and spots where there was poor connection, but I don’t think that was the “apps” fault! Notifications were fantastic! Reaction time with old phones isn’t the greatest, but after refreshing, seemed to be fine. Maybe a direct link on the app to the live finish line to see your athletes Ironman finish!! Nothing better than hearing “you are now an Ironman”!!!
Ironman app Was almost like being a witness!
I followed the Iron Man/Muncie event on my app from 5:30 in the morning California time until my friend crossed the finish line at 7:19 Muncie time… And it was thrilling to feel like I was almost there! Her family kept sending me pictures but the App’s stats were so helpful in making me feel like I WAS “there.“ I’m not a runner or a cyclist and used to be a swimmer so it was all contributing to my understanding of everything involved in such an incredible athletic achievement and left me feeling that I had not missed out. Bravo!
Was it really that easy?!?
A friend’s spouse sent this app around to support our Ironman. We were like “oh no, another clunky app full of ads and registrations”. - Not the case at all. Downloaded the app, searched the name of our guy, got a map, dynamic data, AND estimated times to finish.
It was marvelous and seamless and in a world where we are generally only inspired to review something that irritates us, I am happy to say this free app delivers above and beyond for the those who want to track their athletes both while at the scene and remotely.
Great app but could improve some features
I watched my friend compete all day in Ironman Kona. I would regularly post throughout but it became hard to grab info after the swim becuse there was no way to stack times so you could have the swim stat near the bike stat, then later the run stat. It was frustrating to have to grab and crop without context of whose name it was and what the list of times was for. I recommend a “total so far” section where it’s formatted for Instagram for easy posting and people can see the name of competitor and completed event times stacked or alongside the current progress.
Almost a perfect way to track an athlete
I’ve used this tracker to follow my husband at 4 IronMan 70.3 events. Easy to download, easy to use. So easy to use that I have looked up times for strangers who were curious about the time and location of their athlete.
My only complaint is the minute or two lag time between when an athlete passes the tracker station and the notice appears on my phone. I missed quite a few pictures, because I was not expecting my husband to reach my location as quickly as he did, until I began to subtract 2 or 3 minutes from the tracker’s report of my husband’s location.
Tracked well!!
It tracked my wife flawlessly, except when she reached 1:10 into the race(the swim cutoff time) the app said she was disqualified for not making the cutoff even though she was already 20 minutes into the bike. After a minute it reset itself and continued tracking. It did the same thing on a friend that we were also tracking in the same race. That was a such a minor nuisance I almost feel bad for mentioning it. On race day our family was spread across 4 states and one son in Asia. All could track her progress. What a wonderful app!
Saw everyone I was tracking
I had six people to track at ironman Maine, 70.3. I would never have been able to see all of them because their times were so different if it wasn’t for this app. I was able to see everyone come out of the water, start the run and then finishing the race, because the app told me where to be and when to be there.
My only confusion was it, not knowing if the app was reporting into transition or out of transition when it gave updates.
Wonderful tool to track athletes
I have tracked athletes before through the Ironman website and the race site, but this made it easier to get into that system. Had 8-10 athletes being tracked at the same time and all information for each athlete was easily and readily displayed. No huge lag time problems. Loved the experience. I wasn’t sure it would track while they were in the water and was extremely pleased with the tracking capabilities then as well.
A great app
I love using this app to track my wife when I am spectating at a race, it also work great for following friends when you are not at the race. My wife is the one who introduced me to the app and it is great for estimating when your athlete will cross a certain point.
The check points are determined by each race, and some races have fewer points. Some may also list them in kilometers instead of miles. The push notifications are awesome and make it fun to follow someone.
Definitely worth downloading and using at each race.
Very helpful notifications!
I found the sound notifications very helpful. I had a trouble telling if the person I was watching was in the second leg of the bike or if he had completed it. I saw the clock continuing, so I assumed he was still biking. But I couldn’t tell if the clock was an overall time or just the bike time. I had the same problem with the run. Maybe if I understood the app better before the race started, that would have been better. Maybe the larger screen would have helped. It was great to have the transitions labeled because that got me back on track.
We could follow our family’s participant from all over the country, and in Europe.
Thank goodness for this app. As the mom of a daughter who does Triathlons, it makes me feel less anxious to follow her on this website. We were able to cheer her on midway through the bike portion and again as she transitioned from the bike to the run. It was our first time in Chattanooga so the maps were helpful. We all appreciate the quality tracking app for supporters of the Ironman event. Thank you!
Great App!!
This was a great comfort to me watching my sister complete her first Iron Man so far away. When the notifications came it would've been helpful if there was some exclamations of what the numbers meant. I think I figured it out over time but it would've been helpful to know right from the beginning. Plus the map was a little confusing I couldn't tell what was what but these are not complaintsthat would reduce my five star review! Keep up the good work!!
Glitch - Can’t disable messages
Have always had good experience tracking athletes, no complaints there. But as of a recent update there is no way to turn off the “event messages” - there’s a check box that if you uncheck, leave the message screen, then go back, it has been checked again, so you constantly get updates about event schedules, registration, etc, well after the event is over (and if you track people in multiple events, it gets really annoying). It didn’t always do this - please let us opt out of event messages again!
Amazing UX!
As a spouse of a triathlete whose been following the sport for 12 yrs the apps and athlete trackers over the years have been a huge disappointment. Fast forward to today, when I tracked athletes all day for the Mont-Tremblant Iron Man. What an amazing app!!! Great details, easy to use, on time push notifications - just a wonderful user experience. Please share this review with your app development team. Great app for keeping up with your favorite athlete!
My husband will be doing his first Ironman next weekend and I wanted to become familiar with the app. I followed several Ironman events with different athletes so he could see the times and age differences and I think it motivated him. I also enjoyed watching the athletes complete each part of the event and then finish. I think it’s a great way to keep up with your athlete and also see what different courses are doing.
Wife-tracking sweetness!
Finally figured out how to be in the right place at the right time to cheer for my fast little wife. All you guys out there, wanting to be there for your girl on her big day, you need this app! It puts all the info where you need it, and it’s with you constantly on race day. Never mind the squabbling kids - you’ve the stats you need! There is a soggy delay in the upload compared to real-time, ground truth data, but that’s to be expected. Get this app and earn brownie points!
Great app to track an athlete
Thought this app was great - loved how you can see the course, see the athlete in the course and get updates on their progress...either via looking it up or with pushed notifications. Also love the placement stats and avg times.
We learned thru the day not to trust the location markers of the athletes 100%, as we missed them a couple times because of this. During the run, the markers were totally inaccurate.
Best way to follow your IM Athlete!!!
Whether you are at the event needing to find find your athlete on the course to cheer, or at home sending your cheers across the miles, this app is the best way to track your athlete’s progress. Having been in the other side as an athlete, it helps me to know my family and friends know where I am, and those who know me well enough, can tell when I am struggling most and send out those good vibes!!!
Makes Race Prep Much Easier
I just finished up my first Ironman race. Prior to knowing about the app, having to go online through email links to get info was a bit annoying, not the worst thing in the world.
After learning about the app, however, my life got much easier. Being able to open it up and check for any updates, review the athlete guide, and check the race week schedule we’re a breeze.

This app gets you close to you athlete and their pace/finish so you can cheer them on. Of course the app can’t give exact locations since we don’t have a chip inside of our athletes. As the race progresses the accuracy goes down because the algorithm used on the map cannot know the conditions or the athletes condition. With several major races at the same time the server gets bogged down and slow to respond.
I couldn’t be more impressed
I downloaded this app to help myself and my teammates track our first Ironman 70.3. The app was amazing! It helped us keep track of each other’s performance and be prepared for our transitions. It also allowed my wife to watch us from home and follow our race in a way that she enjoyed it more than any other race I’ve been in. I will recommend it to more friends to track us in our future races!
Perfect info
This is my husband’s second Ironman sanctioned event and the app has been totally clutch both times. It’s so great to share with others tracking from afar, and incredibly helpful as a spectator projecting where your athlete will be and when. As well as keeping you filled in on how they’re doing when you can’t see them for a number of hours. Meets all of the needs and is very user friendly!
Tracking athletes is so simple!
Being able to stay up to date on athletes progress through races is incredible with this app. There are so many opportunities to be updated on the athletes progress which is super fun + it’s simple to use.
I have had some delays in logging when at in person events but more likely that not it’s due to the volume of people using the app on that given day.
Great athlete tracker
This has been the most accurate athlete tracker from various types of races I’ve used. It stalled out just a few times, for a very short duration, but that wasn’t unexpected for the size of the race. Overall, the tracker was very accurate, and provided up to date data on the athletes we were tracking. The live map tracking is so helpful in trying to bounce between cheering locations.
Ironman App Review
The app was generally helpful and informative. I enjoyed the regular alerts on the participants that I was following. I would have liked a little more information about the overall size of the field so it would be easier to know where my followed athletes stood in their respective groups.
Also it would have been nice to have better statistics on the bike and run segments. It was hard to figure out what was being relayed, e.g. were the segment data incremental or cumulative?
Pretty good tracking app!
While there are always some issues with tracking in real time for your athlete(s) this app has come a long way in the past few years! Better updates and more accurate. Love being able to track my friend’s and favorite Pros during different IM races. Wish it were a bit more dead on with the location, etc. but that’s tech and it’s better than nothing and being left on the course clueless as to where or when you’ll see your athlete go by!!
Ironman App accuracy
We really enjoy the Ironman app for the entire event but the accuracy is not always consistent. This time it was really off on certain parts of the run…actually frustrating because we had 3 athletes in this event and it made it really hard to know when/where they were. But overall this is a great app and we still would recommend it to all the spectators.
Great for tracking your athlete!
As someone who can rarely make it down to the race itself, I love being able to watch my athlete finish each leg of the race, complete with split times and paces. Each year the app improves and is more and more reliable for accurate location information. If I were viewing the race in person this app would be indispensable for timely placement to cheer my athlete on. Highly recommend for the support crew of all racers!!
Ironman race
My nephew was a participant and it was very nice to see his progress on the route. It would be kind of nice if you put a blurb in there for us novices explaining the different events . Like how many miles did they swim and and bike and run etc . I believe it’s in their stats somewhere but just a short explanation of each event would be nice. Maybe there was and I just missed it. But thank you to the many people it takes to pull off a race like this . It was fabulous.
Ironman App
Used to track friends for two 70.3 Ironmans. App is super easy to navigate. Love looking at realtime updates on individual’s stats. Road map tracking for each is great fun and kept me glancing at screen over several hours. Turned on the pings that kept ringing to call me back to App. Spent waiting time before swim started scrolling through well done sponsor company photos/product shots.
App helped if cell service was working
App was great idea. Downside was it often froze due to lack of cell service. Bring in some towers! Also, assuming it’s not already there, I couldn’t find MY position wrt my sons tracker. Unfamiliar with the course. if it was there I could have used the map function more efficiently. You could sell power station access for recharging power sticks, phones, etc. the app ate up phone battery!!overall, it made my experience far better to have this info!! Thanks!
Impressive as the Athletes!
This app is super impressive. loved the notifications; the timing seemed true enough to track athletes. If I had any quibble, it would be cool if the map were a little more detailed because sometimes it was hard to find where we were in relation to our athlete. But being able to tap on the mile marker and navigate there was helpful! Well done!
Great app but drains your battery!
This app is awesome and intuitive in every way. Search for your race and then search for your participants. It’s that easy! I use this app all the time not only tracking my races, but also all of the races of my friends. Make sure you bring a batty pack to keep your phone charged. Being on your phone all day will drain your battery and you won’t make through an entire Ironman race without it.
A distant spectator of multiple participants!
The app was easy to use. I was following 4 athletes and 1 team. I knew when they started, where on the course they were, and the various live statistics. The app also indicated where the pros and age group leaders were on the course. I could actually watch my friend’s position move along the swim, bike, and run courses. I could not have been more informed as a spectator.
Works well.
Alerts at the beginning of the run are pretty frequent and kind of irritating when you’re used to only every 5k or 10k. But at least you know if your athlete is on pace or running out of steam or whatever. Love how easy it is to find your athlete and then just track in the app. One marathon tracker had me giving them my life story before they would agree to text me updates. Eww. This was much easier!

Exceptional Functionality
Allows to track athlete during entire event.
Provides real time distance and speed times from start to finish. Displays pace and finish time. Shows each race leg split times form beginning to end. Displays map showing athlete’s active progress, moving forward with their initials on icon. Helpful and realistically easy to use.
Milestones
The app did not refresh often enough. The maps were poorly designed. You could not tell mileage on the route very well, especially since it contained 3 loops. Milestones were simply not on the map often enough. And you could not tell the difference between miles in a particular event vs. overall miles.
Ironman Tracker
This tracker app is outstanding. Our daughter and two of her friends competed in the same event and we were able to track each of them through the various stages of their progress for swim, bike, and run. The app also gave us notifications as certain milestones were met. It is a great app for following a friend or loved one’s progress. I highly recommend it!
Great with one improvement
Helpful, easy to use and clean interface. One suggestion is to make the course map with all 3 segments available for viewing BEFORE the race starts. Before the race starts you can only see a map for one segment at a time (i.e. swim only, bike only, etc.). Would be super helpful to see how they all connect. Both for athletes and spectators. Otherwise great!!
